I've just been reading up about these and apparently the CycloDS is "the one" at the moment, though it's a little pricier. Edge is still good and R4 is no longer supported with a growing list of games that don't work on it.

Really?

Well that's a bummer :(

Does anyone have a suggested source? I keep wondering to buy one for my sister.

I just ordered two Edge cards from here:

http://www.pcjerry.co.uk/

It was only yesterday so I can't vouch for them as yet. I can post on here if and when they arrive though.

Also Play.com have some Sandisk microSD cards for pretty cheap, £5 for 2GB I think.

Shit. I just told a guy at work to get one, late last week.

Fixed for my usage of it, not to say there won't be problems in future.

That said, maybe it's time to upgrade.

I'm still using a positively ancient G6 lite, I guess when you go to try a game and it's doesn't work is the time to upgrade.

I hear good things about the Cyclone.

I have an R4 which i've had for years , however they last updated the software in June and a lot of newer games dont work on it , when my girlfriend was looking for a card we got her an Edge which at least has more regular updates.

I got both the R4 and the Edge from Amazon , at least you have some sort of comeback on there if it doesnt show up rather than pick a company at random , however last time i checked dealextreme had them for really silly prices (and at the same time you can spend a fiver and get a box full of other tat :-)

Maybe there should be some kind of sticky on this, as recommending a DS flash cart is one of those things that's been coming up on a regular basis since the (dark days we don't talk about -Ed). That and "how do I flash my PSP?"

That's a brilliant find, Ace. Definitely one for the bargains thread if it isn't already logged. EDIT: I have put it in the bargains thread with credit to yourself.

I've got an AceKard 2 which is rather nice:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11811

Just looked and it's backordered until after Christmas so no chance of getting one from them in a hurry unfortunately.

Also 7dayshop are doing an 8GB microSD card for £10.49 and it looks like a Class 6 card, too:

Further to this the Edge cards I ordered have arrived and work fine. I'd recommend this supplier to anyone looking to order one from the UK.

they send me this yesterday (but after 3 days before said that my cyclo was sent out, so probably not that relevant to me

Quote:

Firstly, and most importantly, we apologise to those customers that had to wait a long time for any orders made since the beginning of December. If you were on of the affected customers, the final batch of backlogged orders were despatched earlier today and should be with you soon if not already. Any orders we felt we couldn't fulfil were refunded and notified last weekend

Now to the reasons for this huge disruption...

We had the unfortunate experience of having one of our largest shipments seized by Customs & Excise. We can't reveal too much as this is still ongoing, but the latest developments have seen a major console manufacturer involved. Whilst we do not condone piracy and offer no support for illegal purposes, our pleads fell on deaf ears and as of yet, this shipment is out of our reach and we expect it to be retained or destroyed by the major console manufacturer, even though they have no legal rights over the items in question.

The loss of this consignment affected about 5% of our recent orders which we have now resolved. So whilst we understand any customers aggrievance on delayed orders, we hope you can sympathise with our current predicament.

But to some better news... Today is a more positive day, and (somehow) another large shipment came through. So, we have uploaded our stock inventory about an hour ago and we have the following in stock:

Hmm, worryingly the Edge site seems to be down also, coincidental perhaps?
