I never played Wipeout. Wipeout 2097 and Wip3out were the shit, though. Rollcage was pretty good too... then it all went wrong.

I was working at GAME when the Saturn and the Playstation came out.

It was hard work selling the Saturn when the PS1 had Wipeout.

Mind you, once you got past all the hype around the game (and nonsensical whipped-up notoriety about ZOMG drugs and bloodstained Sara Cox etc), there was actually a really solid and very challenging racer in there.

Great game. Still got my copy in a box downstairs along with my PS1!

I had Wipeout as a launch title with my PS1. Imagine going from an Amiga to playing Wipeout? It was amazing... Hard, but amazing.
