Duolingo. Free, and you can do it on your phone while you commute. :) (although not sure if it needs a constant internet connection, which might make it tricky on the plane)

Duolingo is good. I started German for work but I just don't have the patience. Recently started Spanish as we have a few Dominicans and Mexicans on our baseball team and would be good to be able to say a few things.

Baseball team? I would love to play baseball...If only anyone else played it here...

As for German, you can practice playing point and click adventures, which Germany still is the country which produces them the most (try The Whispered World and The Book of Unwritten Tales).

Speaking of which, i had a proposal to go work (and live) in Germany 2 weeks ago. I said no...there's no way i want my (hypothetical) children speaking in German.

I should probably pick up Spanish. I do French so it is probably fairly straightforward as it is from the root. Mummy Afterthought studied old Iceland as part of her German degree. German is a fun language to learn and speak.

I know!

There is Rosetta Stone, that's more PC based (last time I looked)

Or CD\MP3 stuff you can play in the car?

Will work help on paying for some classes or something?

iOS or Android? The iOS app seems to disable autocorrect, which is pretty essential.

Android, and with a third party keyboard, which probably isn't helping :)
