Uh oh! Hold everything, more pressing issues have come to hand.

One of you has drunk the potion... That wasn't very clever...

There is now a prime zombie, their zombie comrades have risen and joined them... unfortunately zombies aren't the most intelligent of creatures and the have no idea who the prime zombie is.

There are three zombies.
There are three townies.
There is a prime zombie.

Today is the last day. If a townie is lynched, the zombies ransack the town at night and turn the townies who are left. If a zombie or the prime zombie is lynched, the town raise up and drive the zombies out.

Good luck.

Night power (if any): Can peek through one player's curtains per night phase to see if they're sleeping soundly or absent due to having a night action
Allegiance : Town
Passive characteristics (if any): My passive ability will be that anyone using the :hat: Dimlie is seen as a threat to my gentleman-ness and gets squished by unknown forces.
Affectations (if any): must end every post with a question. Must use the word 'why' in every post

Congrats to prime zombie Cras, and the other zombies :)

Congrats also to the mafia for surviving so long without any kill action!

If you want to see what the fuck happened and a full list of peoples roles, check these out:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C8c ... sp=sharing

Good game everyone, hopefully it was as confusing to play as it was to work out the night actions ;)

What allegiance shift? The spreadsheet has him Mafia from Day 1 and no shifting power.

Anyway, all the mental just made it more fun.

Ah, you can't see the dead thread yet can you

"Now we are at the last day, I can explain a few things.

It should be obvious now why I couldn't explain as the game was going on, as Grim... could read everything I said in here.
The start of the game was interesting. I gave out the assignments and asked people with kills roles to write a kill role, this is what Mr Russell gave me:

Name: Sir Robust Manly
Short description : English Gent
Night power (if any) : none
Allegiance : Mafia
Passive characteristics (if any) :My passive ability will be that anyone using the :hat: Dimlie is seen as a threat to my gentleman-ness and gets squished by unknown forces.

A passive kill role! That kinda fucked over the mafia from the start, as they couldn't kill anyone overnight :D So I knew I had to do a rebalance somehow, and after Grim... and his first day skirting so close to the meta boundary, it was too amusing not to make him part of the mafia and totally change time :D Sorry Bobby!

Luckily Mimi swap Russ's passive to myp, so it was still in play when he got lynched...

Then things happen as you see them.

Main thing I want to know is why I didn't get told who the one person who visited me was...

My role, as stated by me : a somewhat naive fan of the mafia having seen too many godfather films. Think they're cool. sonewhat unprepared for the reality if I ever notice it.

Waits up diring the night hoping to see santa the mafia plant a sock horses head. Knows the first person to target with a night action each night, but gets too excited to actually figure out what they did. Also fails badly at not being seen.

So Know who, but not the role.

Given his role, it would've worked quite well, aside from it being pretty obvious who it was anyway.

Turns out, I'm also a zombie film fan.

What else did I change? Not much really, most of it was what you all came up with. The only thing significant I added was to let the doc inject live people if he wanted, so that I could do the whole zombie thing if it came to that.

Ah, I see about Grim... now. Glad I wasn't going mental when I saw him as Town on the first day.

Obviously that got Bobby lynched as there was no way of knowing Troops had changed the rules! :DD

Soz Batman!

I didn't die! More games with no kill actions! :D

Thing is, I was fairly sure it was Russ, for numerous reasons.

But because I was mainly just trying to stay alive and align with the strongest team rather than defeat the mafia, killing Russ was too big a risk if he did turn out to be telling the truth as it would effectively make me seem a liar.

Problem is that two things got conflated into one. His night action (Let me know I've been invaded by his role) and my night action (Let me know the player I've been invaded by) got a bit confused.

It only occurred to me that it'd gone wrong when I was asked for the results and realised that I'd got the role not the player.

Having read DavPaz secondary win condition, it now makes sense.

Unfortunately at the time it just made him look (more) unhinged.

---

Was good fun, would play again.

Although I can't help but feel that next time the mafia might (a) want a kill role and (b) Have something to counteract role claims.

My suggestion for the counteraction would have been to tell people the roles but not say who was mafia or town - so you could have someone say 'well i'm madam palm' but that does not instantly mean mafia

The 'mass role claim' was always going to be an issue as there is no 'pool' of normal people to hide in.

Best Bodyguard EVARRRRR!!!!! Protected and killed baddie on 1st night!!! woot!

Great game to read, so insano game v1.0 has been finished.

Thanks Troops must have been a real ballache working out what the fuck was going on.

The Batman thing had me thinking of a game of Sparticuscum, could be funny with Romans vs Slaves.

I agree, that was my mistake. In a normal game everyone knows what the allegiance of each role is, so I just did the same for this game, but it's obvious in retrospect that only works if there is a pool of townies to hide in!

Sorry about that :)

SG being an awesome bodyguard really screwed it for the Mafia. They could have done with an SK killing power townies.

A lot of fun, that one. Best in a while.

Next one I run will definitely have a Nightcunt.

Nightcunt.

I had no idea that the passive-ability-swap would affect the rest of the game, I assumed that it would just be for one night.

Mimi swapped a load of passive abilities around throughout the game, so you ended up with the people squish on hat passive.

He may not have read or have access to the dead thread ?

Basically instead of the mafia having a kill role we had a passive kill , anyone who posted the :hat: dimlie would be killed - that was Mr Russ's passive ability.

Mimi's ability swapped this power to you on night 1 so while i spent most of the last 'normal' day posting the :hat: dimlie and trying to encourage others to post it it was your power that then triggered and killed :

Me
Mimi
Saturnalian

Which then setup the zombie endgame.

So I had no way of knowing about this or affecting it in any way. There was no way I was posting a hat though - I'm not an idiot (zombie endgame notwithstanding).
