Admittedly it's vague and doesn't specify whether that's 50% of the total or 50% of the 50% that they get, but given that I didn't donate, I can only assume it's the former.

By the way, any Townie who steals is an idiot. You're far more likely to steal money off another townie than a Mafia, and then you're just concentrating the town's money in one place. Gee, I wonder how the mafia will prioritise their night kills?

Better get lynching before there's no townies left. We've got a bit of differentiation forming now, in that we have four that have invested twice (unless there's some donating going on I've missed) and haven't been robbed either night, for a maximum current score.

OK, looks like I misread about what happens if two people steal off the same person.

And I still can't see a reason to donate.

Sadly I disagree - dead players can't be stolen from, so they'll be looking to keep the high earners in the game 'til last. And it stands to reason that mafia will not target each other with steal actions, so its likely they will be amongst the high earners more often than townies.

Mafia only win by killing enough town - to them, it doesn't matter what order that happens in. I think they'll be looking to lock the scores of townies with piss all cash.

Not true. When the Mafia outnumber the town, the game ends. AT THAT POINT, the town totals and Mafia totals are compared to decide the winners. So it's very important to the Mafia that surviving townies don't have a shit-ton of money.

A scenario we're nowhere near yet. For now, if they're smart they'll keep the high rollers on to steal from and then kill in the same night action, possibly using theft amongst each themselves to hide the individual that's doing it.

A reason to donate would be if you're the person with the most cash. Whether Cras or Zeppo is right on what the Mafia would do (and killing Nick seems to indicate they are going for rich people), you're a target for SOMEONE if you have a large stack.

Remember that this isn't just Town vs Mafia; we're also trying to finish ahead of one another, so dying early and rich isn't a sensible ploy, given that more money will flow into the game as people invest.

This isn't getting us any closer to a resolution. Probably because any time someone proffers a tactic they get voted for.

It is funny though.

The problem is, that we have no information, so we are statistically more likely to hit a townie, and hitting a townie is actually bad as that means they can't accrue any more money. On the other hand, it stops the mafia from being able to steal their money. So frankly, I don't know what to do.
