It's one day closer to Christmas! Yay!

Oh. Not yay for Nickachu.

He has been strung up by the neck with tinsel, and is very dead indeed.

Nickachu was a Note Passing Elf

Also missing is someone else. They have been added to the Naughty List and have left in shame.

Poor SDG.

SDG was an Elf

Not a good start! Come on elves! Save Christmas!

[playerlist]
Cras Kringle
zaphod79
Grim...
gospvg
GazChap
SilentNight
Santanalian
Bobbyaro
Squirt
Trooper
Mr Russell Sprouts
Joans
DavPaz
Sharp Suit
Goddess Jasmine
[/playerlist]

15 players remain. 8 votes to put someone on The Naughty List.

Day Two ends at 10pm Wednesday

All in all a pretty poor day.

Gospvg you certainly drove the day forwards, but did we learn anything other than nobody was defending anybody?

Gospvg held the day up, trying to kill off an elf with a power role.

I'm not suggesting he knew, but it makes his claims about Craster a little... Well... Iffy.

My analysis from day one when the mass voting for Kovac occurred

Ok reading the thread & the rules again the Mafia have an advantage in that they can communicate with each other. the only two people who have remotely shown any remorse to Kovac is moi & Santanalian. If Kovac was mafia I would have expected at least one other person to try to save him which has not happened so i'm going out on a limb here and saying Kovac is not Mafia. He could be the demented elf or scrooge but not sure on those yet.

Looking through the players who have voted for Kovac 9 (Grim..., Cras Kringle, SilentNight, Mr Russell Sprouts, nickachu, Trooper, DavPaz, gospvg, zaphod79)

Let's give Grimm the benefit of the doubt for testing the vote system but then he has not unvoted?
Silent night, Nikachu, Cras, Zaphod (also Russell) all voted for Kovac in quick succession. I am going to say one of them is Mafia.

So what do you think town? any sense in my thoughts?

One of either Silent, Nikachu, Cras, Zaphod or Russell is mafia (maybe even two).
I went for Cras because he responded to my analysis above & was in the four/five I suggested to look at.

Well Nikachu was an elf and is now dead, so your list should only be four people long (and three obviously without me).

I do feel Christmassy this morning, all lovely and in the spirit of joyfulness.

Yep talked too much yesterday (too much time on my hand), won't have time today got quite a bit on at work but we certainly learnt that I was right that Kovac was not mafia (which is what I was saying), I was hoping we would get the switch to Cras or Nikachu but that did not happened & with the day coming to close it was better to lynch Kovac than no-one so at least the town could learn something.

I suggest pressure be applied to one of the four/five in the list my preference of course is Cras.
Will check in around lunchtime. hopefully some of the quite players will come out to play. Joans, Sharpy, Squirt, SDG or Jasmine?

Sorry yes need to stop & think will be back around lunchtime. Engineer has arrived I suggest we apply pressure to Cras or Zaphod who was happy to change to Kovac because he knew I would vote the 10th.

I'm very suspicious of gospvg right now - their "vote for Cras Kringle" post seems very sure, but the subsequent justification seems very loose.

Other than that, don't have much to go on.

Absolutely no one could have been right about Kov, and besides, I was the one who was trying to lead people away from a snap lynch. So, I'm, like, bestester.

A townie is always lynched day 1. Without exception. I'm decidedly more disappointed about losing the note-passer (who gos and others would have lynched, by the way)

Actually, I meant you and SilentNight as I didn't mean to single out just you. I don't really care how it usually goes; it was clear that the surge in votes needed to stop so we could have a think about what had happened but there was a gang of people who were unwilling to even reconsider their choice. The question is: why.

Because it doesn't matter on day one. You're going to lynch someone, it may as well be the first person indicated. Especially as the bad guys aren't usually dumb enough to out themselves with a voting bandwagon on day one - they never need to.

:this:

The first day votes wont tell us much today, but if you use them in combination with information we get in the future, they can be useful.

I think Gos is ok, but he is reading way too much into things at the moment and making assumptions without thinking through all the possible scenarios and reasons why people would do or say stuff. So while I think Gos is ok, i'm not willing to lynch Cras because of it, I think that is based on misguided logic.
That's not to say I think Cras is good, just that I'm not going to vote for him based on the logic currently put forward :)

I'd be interested in what the quiet ones have to say, and also there are still note writers out there who must have written notes last night. Did Nick get a note out before he died is a good question.
Is there any reason why the people who got notes shouldn't share what they got? I can't think of a good reason not to share that info. I know that I didn't get a note and i'm happy to share that :) How useful those notes will be is a different question! :D

This is garbage. Whilst I accept that a day one voting should be inevitable, there was plenty of time to move from the snap-lynch on Kov. A movement of votes that would have invariably of lead to more information than just saying "Fuck Kov, I'm going with the crowd's first name that comes along".

We need to look at the voting patterns on day one for Kov, there was a rush of votes in the middle & the change from Zaphod at the end. On note sharing I don't see anything in the rules to say that information cannot be shared if anyone received a note?

Of course, but Nickachu couldn't possibly have known anything useful, so any note is unlikely to have anything of value in it.

I received a note, but it didn't say who it was from. It named someone in the note as being good but, to be fair, it could have come from the bad elf or a good elf.

I would say that the goodie note passers are next to useless as they couldn't communicate with each other, so any info they did pass would be gleaned only from day thread information.

It was a fluke that the demented elf got a note passing elf, right? There's no way that loon good have known he was a power elf.

Also, after looking again at the rules, unless we happen to hit the Mafia Don early, I think we elves might be in trouble here.

No nog for me thanks

Gospvg - yes voting paterns help but not really after day one - having a feel about specific people is also useful because you may be picking up on more subtle things they are communicating but actual pattern analysis doesnt really work with the small amount of data around.

What we know from yesterday (please feel free to add)

10 people voted to remove an Elf from the game
The Mafia targetted and removed an Elf from the game
The mad Elf targetted and removed an Elf from the game
The Marketing person did not target a baddie (anyone want to come forward and claim that they clockwork oranged into watching uplifting videos last night?)

Some notes were passed around (again anyone want to come forward as a recipient of a note and tell us what they said?)

Some special stuff may have happened (the two mystery roles)

I do think its fair to say that there will have been at least one baddie in the group that voted for Kov , however that really doesnt help us much - I also agree that targeting a silent one would be good as if they are good they are not contributing and are just giving the baddies a chance to slide along undetected so

[vote:joans]

I got a note yesterday which said "Merry Christmas!"
