Good Lord.

So quick summary. I find that my X100 has severe noise banding issues at an ISO of 3200 and over. Worse than my Nikon in a way, which is odd, as the websites rave about the great noise control of the X100. So I go hunting online to find out what the problem is and in running a search on 'ISO 3200 and banding and X100' find this thread:

http://www.fujix-forum.com/index.php/to ... -examples/

Back in February the first poster, Martsham, posted his problems with example images of noise banding that show exactly the same problems I'm having. So I resurrect the thread with a couple of cat photos showing the problems I'm having. Posts are exchanged and he says how he's happy that he sent it back to Fujifilm and got a replacement quickly.

I tell him I bought mine from the Fujifilm Refurbished stock.

Quote:
The previous one I had the serial number ended in 130. Any match?

:blown:

It is the same one. He emails me the full number and yes, it is the same one. We exchange shocked expressions.

I have just sent an email to Fujifilm. Somehow I think I should be getting a replacement. Pronto. 8)

I bet that happens with a lot of "refurbished" stuff though. Someone runs through a quick test script, probably completely oblivious to whatever fault was reported, finds no problem and so they send it straight back out again.

Yep. The refurbished iPhone 5 I got sent by my insurance company has got a terribly weak wifi signal compared with my wife's, at home and on public wireless connections.

Judging by the thread name I though you were going to tell a story similar to what happened to me years ago.

I moved to a flat on a third floor without elevator and with really steep steps. I thought that would be a good idea to order my groceries online. So, when the order came I got one banana, one lemon, one orange, one potato, one onion, one carrot, and so on. The number next to each item on the supermarket website was in units and not kilograms !

I had to share this.

Lol at Ryusan.

Got a reply from Fuji, humble apologies, fall on sword, etc. They're sending me a special quick-return bag to pop mine back to me and sending me out a new camera. :)

Cue camera with '1D4Evr' carved in front with knife or something.

Yay, glad you're getting it sorted out.
