Brilliant, isn't it? Pass rates go up, everyone jumps on the bandwagon of "Exams are getting easier!"

Pass rates go down, nobody (well, except you) asks if the exams are getting harder.

Clearly this means teachers are getting worse. The feckless, lazy, public sector cunts. Sack them all and see how they like The Real World.

This generation going through A levels is the very start of the kids from our generation.
Look at us, how could they be anything but imbecilic? And it'll only get worse, mark my words...

Given that new advances are made in science and all sorts of other fields on a regular basis, it seems odd that people would think we're always getting progressively stupider as a species.

It's just opinion being presented as news, like all "news" these days.

So you won it a while back, but now you can't win it. That's a good example of homo sapiens getting stupider, I'd say.

Frankly, I think the problem is more that children are being taught to an exam more than anything.

Although it works out well enough for me since I'm good at them, probably one of the best things about my school from an educational standpoint (more than it being a zoo) was that the exam syllabus was seen as only a fraction of what was needed to standpoint, relying more on trusting the teacher to know what was going on than an exam board.

Yup thats pretty much what I got

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
so as i figure it we have Generation Y (the millennium generation) around now.

A generation is 20-22 years (so i will call it 21)

1 Generation left in the cycle
26 Generations for the double digits generations
24 Triple Digit Generations to get to XXX

21 x 51 = 1071 years plus what is left in Generation Y (if any at all)

So the Porn Generation should be around in 3084.

Yes, because we only compete against non-humans.

Our winning ratio has reduced in direct correlation to - A) The quiz being advertised, and more widely popular, B) The proportion of attractive women participating generally significantly decreasing, C) Curiosity procreating and D) Pre-quiz drinks taking on more importance.

26 for the double digits, assumes, that it goes from AA to BB to CC and not AB, AC etc...

If you do it properly (like excel)

Then from at the start of Gen A it would be (24*26*26) + (24*26) + (24) generations, so if now we're at the end of Gen Y, then it's (24*26*26) + (24*26) - (1) = 16847 generations = 353787 years.

So the year 355,799

Why not?

XXX =
X00 + X0 + X

X00 means the second and 3rd digits have all been used 26 times, and the first digit has been used 24 times (hence 24*26*26)

X0 means the 3rd digit has been used 26 times, and the first digit 24 times (hence 24*26)

X means the 3rd digit has been used 24 times.

(cf 888

888 = 800 + 80 + 8 = 8*10*10 + 8*10 + 8

Because you don't use numbers at all. It goes Y-Z (2), AA-ZZ (26) and then AAA-XXX (24).

Each generation is roughly 20 years, so that's 20*52 = 1040.

2013+1040 = 3053.
