I said I would put a PC together for a friend, as I have a novatech case and just need a motherboard bundle and a HDD

it is for internet and word processing, possibly skype..

Been looking at these...

I had a computer from them a few years back for precisely that. Clean install of Windows, no hassle, did the basics just fine and cost next to nothing.

This week's Custom PC has a 'Get a PC for £100' feature - I'll scan it in.

But seriously, for what you're after, literally anything will do really.

In fact, the OS will be your biggest expense, what are you intending to use for that? (I'm assuming Windows, of course.)
