Pretty fun little game, you are dropped in five random locations on Google maps and have to guess where you are.

I got 13413 on my first go http://bit.ly/12jqyMg

10251 here.
Three good ones, then a couple with no meaningful clues.

That's a cool use of Google Maps if ever I've seen one.

My score was pitiful, 5,300 odd.

I got 11382 on a second go, guessing I was in Sweden on one of them by the fact a bike had been propped up against a tree and not stolen.

11927 first time, the big lorry with the .br website was quite useful in one of them.

Edit - followed by 5547, ably demonstrating that the first go was complete luck :p

I'm quite disturbed that I knew exactly where one place that came up was, despite never having been there.

(Okinawa Peace Museum, fact fans)

Or indeed, this...

And as if to take the piss, I've been to the place behind the map in that screenshot. I think it's somewhere in paris, but I'm not entirely sure where. It's a while ago now.

Bugger me, it's even longer ago than that... I would've been 7 or 8 or so at the time. 8)

Game finished!

You got 11370 points in total.

I got most of them quite well, Two in texas/mexico which I got very right. and then I got Scandinavia rather Germany, Washington State instead of Alaska, and Spain rather than Italy.

Which I don't think is too bad.

I got 8450. I guessed Scotland from the fact the weather looked dull and the Nevada desert because I've been to the Grand Canyon.

Some Japanese writing on a sign helped my other guess. Brilliant game!

Not as helpful as a local map and some Japanese text indicating you were somewhere near Osaka, and a harbour.

Chinese text didn't help much mind, China is pretty large.

How many points did you get for that bullseye, Mr Dave?

For the bullseye itself, it's on the screen shot itself. 3172, I think.

Overall I think that round was somewhere about 12000, but I can't remember.

It also gave me this oddity to guess.

Strangely enough, I couldn't find it on the map.
