So, as I sit here eating milk bottles, with their chewy powdery goodness, i'm led to wonder what your favourite sweets were from back in the day?

Cola Cubes were a huge favourite of mine, and pear drops, even though it took 2 days to recover from the shredded palate.
Milk Bottles obviously.
Foam Shrimps and Foam Bananas.
Parma Violets.
White Mice.

About once a year I buy a crap load of all this crap and gorge myself silly.

Interesting, all these types of sweets are collectively known as "Ket" up in geordie land...

Ket means a very different thing where I come from.

Mainly dribbling as you try and eat a pint glass while an audience of thousands cheers you on from behind the sofa.

I liked anything fizzy or sour.

Cola bottles were a favourite of mine, too.

Kola Kubes are ace.

Pear Drops are similarly ace, but oddly enough I always start coughing uncontrollably shortly after eating one - must be some sort of coating on the sweet itself.

Also a big fan of Pez and Mr. Tabs (the latter of which is a cheap knock-off of Pez, almost the same quality but a bit chalkier.)

Since chinnyhill10 pointed out that you can now subscribe to products on Amazon, I've asked them to send me a 10-pack of Pez refills every two months along with my Fentimans.

That entire idea is both amazing and terrifying.

For some reason, my brain doesn't associate anything with chocolate as a "sweet".

Otherwise, Double Deckers for life, yo.

I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Jelly Babies are about my only weakness.

The outside bit is just a conduit for the sherbert. You're not supposed to like the outside bit.

You are however supposed to like the point when the sherbet breaks through and the initially nothing taste blossoms into excellence; that's the point of flying saucers surely?

Cola cubes
Chewits (and the fizzy ones too)
Refresher bars

Lately, I've had to work very hard to not eat whole packs of chocolate covered pretzels in one go.

Friggin Haribos are dangerous, leave me with a bag for 30 mins & you are not going to have any left.

My kids for some reason like fruit winders.

Anyway what was the fizzy powder you could get that would crackle & pop on your tongue?

Popping candy

I used to love the little chocolate fairy cake thingies. Probably taste like yuck if I tired them now tho.

Cadburys are selling bars of dairy milk filled with jelly beans which are themselves full of popping candy.

Someone at school said you shouldn't eat the casings. But then one kid insisted you could.

Even to this day I treat them with suspicion since the casing tastes like cardboard.

That is all.
