Right people, lets give this a go shall we!

You should have received a PM from me by now if you are a Spy. Nobody is allowed to communicate with each other outside of this thread.
There are 4 spies in our midst

The object of the game is for the resistance to overthrow the government, the objective of the spies is to stop them.
There are 5 missions, at the end of 5 missions, the team that has won the most rounds wins. A round is won by the resistance if there was no sabotage by a spy, a round is won by the spies if one or more of them sabotage the mission.

There are 2 main phases to the game, choosing who to send out on the mission and the mission itself

Choosing who to send:

The leader for the first game has been chosen at random (Malia, god help us), and after each round of voting the leadership will pass to the next person in the list.
The leader will make a proposal on who to send on the mission in the thread. You may select yourself to receive a set of plans.
Once a proposal is made, it cannot be retracted.
The Leader has up to 24 hours to propose an assignment.
After the proposal is made, voting begins, If no proposal is made in 24 hours, the leadership passes to next player and the phase will re-begin.

Voting: although players are free to announce their vote or intended vote publicly if they wish (or lie if they wish to), each player needs to PM me their vote within 24 hours. A simple yes or no will suffice.

If a majority of players accept the proposal, it is accepted and plans are distributed.
If a proposal is declined, the day will continue and leadership will pass to the next player.
I’ll announce the results, how each player voted, whether we repeat the phase or go to the next, and who the new leader is. Voting is required.
If after 5 rounds of voting no proposal is accepted, the spies automatically win.

The mission
Once a proposal has been made and successfully voted on, the mission members have 24 hours to PM whether they would like to support the mission or sabotage the mission.
If the plans are sent to a resistance member, they must choose to support the Resistance. If sent to a spy, the spy has the option to support or sabotage the Resistance.

Having received all decisions, I'll post the results. Players will not know who performed the sabotage, but will know how many acts of sabotage occurred.

I think that's it!

Players
Bobbyaro
Cras
Curiosity
Grim...
KovacsC
Malia
Mr Russell
Saturnalian
sdg
Slightly Green

So Malia, our gracious leader. Mission 1. This is a 3 man mission, who would you like to send? You have till 2pm Tuesday to decide.
You can talk about who you want to send as much as you like, but can I ask you to put your final proposal in bold, so that I know when you have locked in your choice.

Hello! A nice, out-of-character post to start off with.

Do we need a counter, or anything?

I don't think so, all votes and stuff happen outside the thread.

All right, people! gather round and listen up!

As we all know, we are the Totally Whitewashable Intelligent Terrorist Squad dedicated to bringing down the government and its evil autocrat Kissyfur III. I have devised a plan of utmost brilliance that some of you, of we decide that it is a good plan to carry out to further in our aims, goals and objectives. Slightly Green, KovacsC, Cras and Mr Russell will crawl through the SSH tunnels of despair that leads directly into the mainframe computer centre that Kissyfur II has installed. This controls his security cameras. There, you will activate and upload using 1337 Protocols the software that will make all secruity cameras superimpose a juggling unicylist at every street corner. tyhis superimposition will provide a distraction for our next move. This is the first step towards liberation, comrades, and mighty journies begin with first steps. The rest of us will hang about and play table football and drink some beers.

Slightly Green
KovacsC
Mr Russell
Cras

Your duty calls, should we vote "YES!". Which we will, as it is the first go. I'm sure.

erm.... not wanting to throw a spanner in the works but I think this mission may be over manned.

Having said that I am thrilled to be chosen to crawl through shit for the glory of the revolution!

Ok, if I understand this correctly we decide if we want this mission to go ahead. Based on it being day one and us knowing nothing about anyone, I see no logical reason for it not to go ahead. I vote yes.

I'd like to clear up the 5 no votes and the spies win rule, as I don't think it is clear at the moment.

There are a maximum of 5 voting rounds per mission. If no majority yes vote happens by the end of the 5th round, then the spies win.

So for example if we don't get a majority vote for malia's proposal, then we move on to mr Russell to make a proposal, if we don't vote yes by the 5th leader change then the spies win. If we do vote yes before then, then the mission happens, we move onto mission 2 and the vote counter resets.

It's pretty much a moot point though, as there are 6 goodies in the game, so there should always be a majority vote on the 5th unless the goodies are really stupid :D

Just to make things abundantly clear to everyone, as it is different voting mechanism to mafia

"Voting: although players are free to announce their vote or intended vote publicly if they wish (or lie if they wish to), each player needs to PM me their vote within 24 hours. A simple yes or no will suffice."
and after the vote
"I’ll announce the results, how each player voted, whether we repeat the phase or go to the next, and who the new leader is. Voting is required."

So the way we could not reach a majority is if we're not around to pm our votes, gotcha.

It's a strict majority vote, regardless of how many people actually voted. If there is at least 1 vote then there will be a majority.
A tied vote is classed as a rejection by the way.

A common rule online is that if it gets to a 5th proposal then it is automatically assumed to have passed and the game continues. We'll see how we get on though.

So if one person votes yes, in a pm to you, and no one else votes, that's a majority? And do we get told who didn't vote? Or only that x amount of people didn't vote?

Mission approved!

Here are the results of the voting

Bobbyaro yes
Cras yes
Curiosity yes
Grim... yes
KovacsC yes
Malia yes
Mr Russell no
Saturnalian yes
sdg yes
Slightly Green yes

Slightly Green, KovacsC, Mr Russell. You have until 10am tomorrow to tell me if you would like to support the mission or sabotage it.
Remember, if you are a resistance member you have to support it. If you are a spy you can choose to either support or sabotage.
If there are any spies in the mission and they do wish to sabotage, a sabotage scenario of some kind would make the game a bit more interesting, but its up to you.

I certainly hope that there are no evil SPIES in the employ of the theist autocrat KISSYFUR whose sole aims are to INFILTRATE this GLORIOUS MOVEMENT and scupper its LEGITIMATE AIMS. That would be somewhat disappointing and we would need to oeprate a stricter due diligence policy in future.

Potentially, this should be our best ever chance of having a resistance victory because we are all so new to this and so no one has any decent tactics figured out. I already have some ideas forming, I think it's interesting that Mr Russell voted no and only told us when he found out his vote would be made public.

Sorry if this has been covered, but if we work out that someone is a spy through CLEVER ELIMINATION, is there any way to get rid of them?

Also can I get clarification on the rules for Leader changeover. Are we just moving down the Alphabetical list from the first post?

so since Mali is Leader today the future days look like -

Malia - Day 1 Leader
Mr Russell - Day 2 Leader
Saturnalian - Day 3 Leader
sdg - Day 4 Leader
Slightly Green - Day 5 Leader

If a mission is voted down by us as we believe that a spy is in the ranks does the leadership pass on then? Or is it only after a Mission is performed?

I believe leadership passes on after a vote, whether or not we agree to go with it.
