Gosh. It's actually reasonably cheap to get, and if you add up the cost of replacing everything in your home, it really adds up!
Very true, they say that if you could turn your house upside down, everything that fell onto the new floor so to speak would not be covered by building insurance. So think beds, clothes, furniture, white goods, electrics, it adds up.
I have contents for the worse case in that the house burnt down. It’s one policy with buildings and covers other things like £50,000 worth of rental accommodation. I would think that you would be looking at a year minimum from your house burning to the ground before you had a replacement built and ready to move in. I would expect to pay £1500 a month to rent a house similar to mine
