So, the demo has dropped, and it looks promising. Looks good, feels good, only slight disappointments were the lack of voice acting for the characters, and the tracks still aren't as mental as Tricky. Still fun though.

I played this last night and found it to be a little empty, kind of boring really. Then again, I've never been a huge fan of the series so maybe it's just me?

Downloaded the demo last night but played Skyrim.

Looking forward to giving it a try though, loved SSX Tricky on the Gamecube.

Totally missed this last night (or has it dropped today). Stupid new dashboard. I'd have noticed it by pressing up once before I blazed up MW3 on the old dash.

Anyhoo, big fan of Tricky, big fan of SSX3, couldn't give a flying fuck about the Wii version with the stupid motion controls. I'll be at the downloadatron later on today for a gander at this one.

I've always enjoyed the courses, characters and atmosphere and the choice of music was always great. Im not massively excited but if it can capture the feel of Tricky/3 I'll be picking it up.

I saw the icon on the default dashboard screen last night. I ignored it though as the only SSX game I've played was SSX Tricky and I've always preferred the 1080 games.

SSX3 was good too, but didn't howl "TRICKY" at you every time you touched the joypad, so was obviously worse.

The tutorial course was a little empty. But its the tutorial. The other two were fine. Liked the derailed train in the race in the Rocky Mountains, that was a nice touch. I'm hoping the courses get mental-er later on, these feel Elysium Alps level.

I auto-downloaded the demo last night from Xbox.com, but I haven't had time to play it and probably won't until tomorrow after yet another exam. Maybe. :(

Utterly bumgay for this as I loved SSX 3 enough on cube to buy the XBox version for my 360.

Being a rabidly anti-EA sort nowadays for obvious reasons, I'm worried this will use their servers and have autonag and so on. I don't want Trouser's score chucked in my face because I know I'll be shit at this, but I'd like to at least be able to play against mates online for the price I'll be paying.

Truth me up, yo.

Aaaaactually. I remember watching a "quick look" video of this a couple of months ago and the developer said that you can "turn off some of your friends" from your leader boards so you're only competing with people on your friends list who are at your level. Or more accurately, so it looks like you're on top. And you can show your missus/mum/anyone passing by your front room window.

It's a neat idea, but in a way it's also pretty sad. Having the likes of Trousers on your leader board pushes you to get scores you wouldn't normally bother trying for in games. Still never fucking good enough, though.

Does one need an EA account to play online though? I'm assuming yes, so it's almost pointless for me :(

My memory is awesome:

7:30 into the video.

Also, in answer to your EA account question, I'd imagine so, yeah. Never mind!

Well, seeing as their final offer to me was to 'deactivate' my account and I accepted that offer over a week ago in light of my XBox account getting hacked... and they still haven't done it, I might be able to have a go on this.

Tricky was awesome. Bright, colourful, crazy (but not too kerrrazy) fun, and a banging soundtrack.

We used to play Tricky a LOT.

It's not Tricky.

Characters are dull as fuck looking at the lineup too. :(

Just had a go. It seems great! Beat Zardoz's pathetic time. Couldn't beat Pundy's, but I only had a couple of goes - exam in the morning. Will investigate again tomorrow!

Tell you what though, the same person who put that annoying DJ cunt in Burnout 3 seems to think an annoying cunt helicopter pilot gobshiting in your ear all the time is a good idea.

Also, it's pretty indiscriminate about when it makes you fall over. Sometimes you'll bundle down through some rocks and trees and wind up okay, whilst other times you fall off when you nudge a wall. It's very annoying.

It's downloaded!

It's SSX3!

It's got Kioari!

I beat Pundy on the first go!

I like it already. Also, is it playing the Tricky music albeit very briefly?

The music is very nice, by the way. I like this song that's playing but have no idea who it is. The sort-of chill out track.

In seriousness, though - if it's anything like the first one, don't dick around doing tricks, just concentrate on going fast.

Just follow my silhouette. I wasn't following your route - there's a quick section on the right hand side of the mountain thats tucked away. I swear I could knock some seconds off my own time had I known where I was going.

Tried the demo last night and thought it was loads of fun, so have just now popped to Asda to buy the game.

It seems quite forgiving in terms of being able to do the tricks fairly easily, and landing seems okay too so long as you 'let go' in time. I don't think I'll be troubling too many of you on the medals and that, but so long as I can just twat about on various courses with no real restrictions, that'll do for me.

I'm just awful at these sorts of sequence-remembering, button-mashing, combo-stringing types of games, can't do them at all.

Oh me too, I'm a total spaz, but I found this pleasingly easy and fun to play.

I'm sure if you wanted to play it properly and compete for all the medals and stuff, you'd need to take the time to learn all the button combos, but I don't intend to dabble much in that since it will just become hard work then!

I've had a couple of hours on it. It is tremendously flawed but still has that SSX vibe. Very easy to pick holes in the thing (the board seems a bit skiddy, there are crevasses purely to show off the rewind facility and the Deadly Descents are just hateful) but at heart there is the silly fun and stupid tricks. Haven't got into Ridernet yet, but this is very clearly a time/score attack game.

I played the demo and despite being the actual worst ever at these sorts of games I found it really playable. So thumbs up to it! Oh and Mrs. Wookie had a go and made it all the way to the bottom and even did a few tricks without throwing down the controller and pronouncing it shit, which is all unheard of.

Agree with all you're saying there 'cos I've found the same thing.

The game's massively playable at the most basic level, as even if you crash a lot you will still eventually complete the course and fit in some pleasing tricks. Also there is every course available to twat around on, in the basic Explore mode (or whatever it's called).

In the demo, I found the same thing I did with ssx3 : I disliked the races.

However, that's all I saw in the demo.

Have spent several hours on this today, and it's just brilliant.

I've even surprised myself by becoming reasonably good at some courses and picking up a few medals, including a precious gold.
