I cant find a thread for this so rather than bumping an old E3 one from last year lets have a new one

TGS trailer

And at the end of the trailer it gives a date ...... Holiday 2011 , so over a year away

In other news the re-release of Ico / Shadow of the Colossus (digitally remastered) was also confirmed at TGS

"coming soon"

Cool.

PS3s should be £100-£150 by then.

Shadow of the Collossus is one of the finest games of all time. Possibly "The" finest. I'll definately have a look at the HD remakes but only if you get some extras in there too. God of War 1&2 HD didn't have shit which is probably the reason why I couldn't be arsed to pick it up for fourty fucking quid.

I noticed that Japan Studio are involved at the beginning of Last Guardian. No idea who they are but they were also involved with Demon Souls; which has outrageously only been played by about 2 other people on here.

Also The Last Guardian looks The sheeeeeet! A year is too long to wait.

I've never played either SotC or Ico. I almost sought them out a year or so ago but the rumours of HD remakes were rumbling so I decided to wait.

Got rid of my PS2 and copies of both games.

Want. Both.

Obviously.

Edit: iirc Japan Studio are an internal team at Sony. Involved with a lot of first party PSP ports, and a few good PSN things too. I think Ape Escape is them as well.

Ico is a wonderful game, nigh on perfect.

Yeah, I enjoyed both but much preferred Ico to SOTC. This new one looks a bit more like Ico.

I was more the other way. The block puzzles of Ico just seemed of Lara Croft-generation before it. Shadow of the Collossus just seemed ahead of its time with its atmosphere, character and story telling. I don't think I've played anything like it before or since which must mean something.

ICO is much more elegant than either tomb raider or maybe even sands of time in its design.

Still, SOTC is peerless in it's scale and cinematic battles and storytelling.

For me, the most amazing thing is that SOTC is such a brilliant sequel to ICO. Most studios would have done more of the same, but SOTC was just bigger in every way, but it still retained a lot of what I loved about ICO.

Both are masterpeices, end of.
There arent enough superlatives to describe them.
SOTC was damn tough though, didnt manage to finish it :(

Ive got the digipacs of both (avec postcards) for PS2, never sell them.
Id buy the PS3 version just to play in HD, ICO was stunning and still is, but its looks suffer on a HDTV somewhat :(

This is the only game that I'm genuinely excited about.

I do hope they do a lovely PS3 bundle pack when it's finally released.

That's strange cause I thought you had to do them in order before the next one would pop up?

She could paint one of the black bits with white writing on it and it would still look great :-)

Bad news for those looking for it this year

http://www.vg247.com/2011/04/20/delayed ... lossus-hd/

Quote:
Confirmed: The Last Guardian and ICO HD remixes all slip

Sadly, the news can’t all be about Portal 2 releasing early and Bethesda’s Skyrim. No, some days the news is bad.

European product manager Phil Lynch broke the news on the PlayStation blog.

“SCEE can confirm that we are officially delaying the release of ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection and The Last Guardian from their respective launch timeframes of Spring 2011 and Holiday/Winter 2011. We will provide more information regarding release timing at a later date.”

Given the original launch windows, it’s possible that Ico and SotC may still make it before Christmas, but that looks unlikely for new title, The Last Guardian, which may now be pushed back to 2012.

Team Ico head Fumito Ueda posted an apology alongside the announcement:

“I announced at last year’s Tokyo Game Show that the release timing of The Last Guardian which is currently being developed would be holiday 2011.

“However, to provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfill First Party Studio’s obligations, I decided to postpone its release timing.

“All the members of my production team are working together at a fast pace to develop and release the game in First Party Studio quality.

“I sincerely apologize to all the customers who have been waiting for “The Last Guardian” for so long, but I beg for your patience. I will also announce the new release timing at a later time.”

If there’s a silver lining for those that are disappointed by this news, it’s that moving The Last Guardian out of the busy Christmas launch window may give it more room to shine and reduce the risk of it being overlooked. Then again, it might just mean it misses out on important ‘holiday season’ sales.

Thanks, Syrok.

I don't like the sound of this at all.

Its getting to the stage where i dont think it will come out , or it will be such a disapointment when it eventually does because they have had to take it off the people who care about it and give it to someone who will 'finish it' :-(

£190 at the moment (via Amazon) , so i'd expect it to maybe get to that by the end of the year (depending on what announcements happen at E3)

What? Argh. Goddamn it, this is the only game that I'm even remotely excited about. If I ever got my hands on the box I'd be vibrating with excitement. I'd call in sick to work to play it. I'd cue up at midnight even. I'd eat dry roasted peanuts for a week to get a copy. I'd stuff egg sandwiches under my armpits for a fortnight to finally see it. I'd pour English mustard into my orifices every day for three weeks. I'd spoon mayonnaise into my bottom for a month. I'd ... etc.

ANNUAL E3 THREAD BUMP.

This year, people. THIS YEAR.

What we're getting is this: no playable demo or nowt BUT A NEW TRAILER. Will we though? Yes. Yes we will, cause I believe that there's a God out there. A God that wants YOU, the inhabitants of Be Excellent to Each Other, to love and be loved by a computer animals of sorts. Then cry when they eventually kill it in the final act. ONLY FOR IT TO ACTUALLY BE ALIVE. Ok, so we probably don't need to play it now cause that'll probably be the story but let's pretend that we do want to play it and ONLY POST IN CAPITAL LETTERS IN THIS THREAD TO SHOW HOW EXCITED WE ARE THAT ITS FINALLY COMING. Probably.
