Anyone know of a way to make a program that would start with windows and say, save time and date every 5 minutes or something to a text file? I'm curious to see how much time my business partner spends at the stall when I'm not here.

If no-one else does it sounds like 10 minutes in Visual Studio to me. What I don't know off hand is how to stop a program having a taskbar or system tray presence but I bet that's pretty easy too.

Actually at the risk of stating the obvious, assuming this is an NT kernal OS (NT, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, Windows Server 2000-) why not just check the event logs for the login and logout time?

Start -> Run -> eventvwr.msc

You want the security event log.

It's possible that it'll be blank if auditing isn't enabled. In which case you'll need to do the following to turn auditing on:

Start -> Run -> gpedit.msc

Then drill down in the left hand panel as follows:

Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Audit Policy.

Then on the right hand panel change double click on Audit Logon Events and tick the box for "success".

So how much time, then? If it's not much, you should ask him if he's spending all his time setting up the online shop with BurtTank.
