Because of what MaliA did yesterday, and what he continues to do in trying to upset my ability to play EVE, I have little choice but to stop posting on this forum entirely and immediately. Why? Because he's directed a load of griefing trolls here, to BeeX, and to my profile and thus all the posts I've ever made, it is now impossible for me to post anything without it being picked up and used against me in a campaign of online persecution that he started for no reason at all.

Added to this, Grim... has caught wind of this and is now joining in.

Being killed in a game doesn't bother me, but having a bunch of fucknuts follow me around the internet in order to quote and lol everything I say does. It's actually pretty fucking shameful to deliberately set about doing this to someone and then laugh in your face if you complain about it, as MaliA continues to do.

Since Grim hasn't been posting here, I can either assume he's been checking the threads while logged off, or Richard Gaywood has informed him of everything that has occured WRT the EVE trolling since yesterday, and if that's the case they've probably conspired together to try and ruin my game even more.

Since Grim... hasn't been keen on me for some time, I can only assume he's tried to aggravate me further in the very hopes that I'll be forced to leave the forum, which, of course, I am now doing. Either that or he's just being a stunning, stunning prick out of nothing more than malice.

So I did. I stuck up an invitation to treat up on an EvE website.

Rage ensued.

Not rose-tinted at all for me. That was what WoS was like for someone who tried not to get involved in all of the sniping and the arguing. I just tried to contribute to the bits that interested me, and it was the best forum I've ever used. Same thing is happening here - people are getting too personally involved and are leaving themselves open to being offended. Just talk about games and stuff.

This place for the main is pretty cool. We've had some idiots lately but fuck them, it's still no worse than being ruled over by some self important cunt demanding money for fuck all. In fact the only thing that could sink us to that level if is Mr Chris starts posting goatse images of himself in random places.

The problem is that some people don't know how to behave on the internet and get really offended. I wouldn't up up to a stranger in a pub and call them a cunt or take massive offense at next to nothing so why do it here or anywhere else online? This is an internet forum, not a bloody day centre for the socially inept. Those who throw their toys out the pram or who get personally involved need to take a long hard look at themselves.

I don't think it's much different than WoS was. The difference is that this place was borne out of a massive internet spat and this means that people are extra vigilant and so mountains always get made out of molehills. What should be dealt with in a few posts plays out over page after hand-wringing page.

Yes, it's worth pointing out that WOS didn't degenerate because of any sniping, but because someone decided to try and charge money for a service they weren't in actual fact providing and was... less than amenable to any other solution until it was waaaay too late.

Not to most who play it it isn't. I saw Eve wreck the lives of about ten of my old friends who got into it. One even lost his job and nearly lost his wife & kid.

I find it incredible that people could become so wrapped up in something that is rightly as you say, a game. Eve is the very reason I hadn't played a game online until about a month ago (left4dead.. easy to pick up, just as easy to put down..) because I have a somewhat addictive personality.

But to watch what it does to others and how utterly silly it all seems is a very stark warning. Fuck that shit man.
