I've weighed my balls..

As an experiment, I've hung up 2 bird feeders, one half full of peanuts and one with 4 fat balls in it. over 2 weeks, which will get eaten the most by the birds?

Depends which birds frequent your table. Robins and especially Starlings love the fat balls. Starlings can demolish a fat ball within a few minutes. Finches and Tits will go for your nuts. Of course, our 4 squirrels knock down all of it and run off with as much as they can carry

My neighbours resemble fat balls and have never been attacked by the local bird life (to my knowledge). I however am considered to be a bit of a nut and have been dived upon my seagulls and pooped upon by pigeons.

So I went for nuts.

Fat balls are best I find because squirrels won't eat them and they steals all the foods for teh birds!

The bluetits, great-tits, wagtails, robins, blackbirds all love the fat-balls on the balcony.

My grandad also has a bird-feeder with peanuts outside his room at the old folks home, it has a big column of peanuts and there are always six fat-balls hanging up there as well - the fat-balls are demolished before the end of teh week when my ncle replaces them, but then a huge fat wood pigeon eats them a lot as well.

If we put nuts out the squirrels eat them. Not that I mind, squirrels are perfectly cute and at least they don't carry rabies here. The balls, well, they're pretty popular but our birds (we get magpies starlings robins etc) seem to like beef drippings allowed to solidify, ham, chicken and god knows what else. The bread just sits there for days

So basically ours like junk food hehe.

The birds love fat balls around here, but the seed gets plenty of action too. It's a tough call. Fat balls.

I'd definitely go with fat balls, they don't last two minutes around here, but I've had to throw nuts away before now because they've been left to go mouldy. I must refill/restock everything today actually.
