Any bezzies on the pc version of TF2?

want to know if its a worthwhile buy.

TF2 is the only element of the orange box that I haven't bought, but since like CS it used to be free, I'm a bit miffled that the source version isn't free too, otherwise I'd certainly give it a go. I used to really like it back in the day.
