I saw this while standing waiting for a bus. It took me a while to register it's strangeness though. The first thing I noticed was it was pointing away from the flow of traffic (being on the right of the road, if you see what I mean).

Any interpretations?

The obvious interpretation is that Liverpool Council have been fucking the whole city up with spurious roadworks (see the disproportionately huge "roadworks" mound) and haven't been putting in proper diversions to try and ease the traffic chaos.

Or that the council have turned the centre (where is that, anyway?) into a huge pile of elephant shit, and there's no avoiding it.

It's on Lime Street, halfway between the train station and Lewis'. Just next to 82 bus stop (which is coincidentally directly outside the scummiest lapdancing bar I've ever seen, which opens at 4pm on a friday)

edit:

It's a fake. A real road man would be leaning on his shovel drinking tea.

Ah, I did think the horrible purple stuff in the background was St Johns, but couldn't get my bearings and didn't recognise the nearer buildings. Not going down there much, it being buses only and the 82 stopping outside Lewises in the other direction, would explain that.
