23rd October: i bought a marvellous Samsung t220 monitor. I almost drooled at the sight of Gears of War and Fallout 3 on it.

16 days after: monitor starts flickering because it looses connection with pc everytime image is a bit darker (it happens everytime in games and in webpages like Gamespot). I call samsung, they come and take my monitor for repairs. And the funny fact is that if it happened one day before i could have a new one no questions asked.

25th november: I receive the monitor at home and wish i don't have to play Fallout 3 in 1024*768 again.

This morning: Same problem happens. I connect my laptop with a vga cable to it and its the same. So it can't be the PC or the DVi cable fault. I called them and asked for a new monitor immediately. The guy says he can ask for a new one, but because mine was bought in Pixmania and imported from France so it would take a long time, and that its better just to replace all the electronic parts. And they're going to pick it up next week

Anyway, i'm really annoyed for all this. The guy said that he made every possible test and the monitor was perfectly fine.

Is it possible that both cables are faulty? The strage thing is that it happens also to my old CRT monitor (but once the computer recognizes it, it never disconnects again), but i always thought it was because of the DVI to VGA adapter. This are to much coincidences already.

I just want to go live in a cave and play only with rocks.

Haven't I spent the last 6 months tellling everyone on this forum that will listen that Samsung are cunts?

For anyone who still fails to understand....

SAMSUNG

ARE

CUNTS!!!

When you buy a monitor you know nor care where the retailer has sourced it from. But Samsung get shitty about warrenties and won't do swap outs. Likewise the Samsung laser printer that I invalidated the warrenty on because it couldn't handle paper above 80 GSM. So a 6 month old printer got binned because the shoddy paper feed mechanism was fucked.

Remember kids:

SAMSUNG

ARE

CUNTS!!!

Their equipment may look nice but they'll fuck you over if it goes wrong, guaranteed. And their laser printers are shit, buy a Xerox instead.

But if you'd had the misfortune to buy a unit sourced from, say, the USA you'd have hit a problem.

These days the likes of Ebuyer ship kit in from all over the world. But should you end up with one of these units (i.e a non UK model) you are fucked. Samsung will repair it, slowly, but no straight swap out for you sonny Jim. And you will have had no idea that you'd purchased a non UK model until Samsung tell you that you are a dirty stinking commie who they despise.

They can't turn down the warranty for a non UK model, but they can make your life a misery.

Hmm, sorry for the hijack but I have the opportunity to have a new macbook brought back from the US. I haven't checked to see if it'll actually be cheaper yet, but what pitfalls exist if I do this, warranty-wise or otherwise?

It's legendary Coventry City striker, Micky Quinn. He once scored a hat-trick on the opening day of the season, if I remember correctly.

None. However, it's unlikely to save you much money.

I've bought a Samsung DVD burner before, currently have a Samsung E900 mobile, and am considering picking up a Samsung Spinpoint hard drive in the future. Am I an imbecile for all of these?
