I have a few hosting customers who have outstanding invoices and despite reminders have not paid. Some of the charges are very minimal, £10 or so, and so it's damn near impossible to refer this to a proper debt collector because its not worth them even writing a threatening letter for so small an amount.

Also I suspect that mechanisms such as the small claims court would laugh out any case for such a small amount.

The question then becomes, what can I actually DO to make these cuntfaces pay up?

I have already changed my systems so that domain names are no longer renewed and I'm going to write something else shortly that disables websites as soon as the prepayed hosting time has expired, I'm sick to fucking shit of renewing domain names in good faith only to have the cunts dissapear and refuse to pay.

Look, they will tell you how much they want to pay and not a penny more ;)

Also yeah any business like that will get a percentage of deadbeats. It sucks but I assume you can take possession of the domain name. Bonus points for changing that site to a message saying "Deadbeat!"

Presumably you have their home addresses. Send them a letter - cheap and more serious looking than an e-mail.

Renew domain name, hold on to it, charge a late payment fee or a "release" fee if they want to move elsewhere.

Change the domain content to "[X] is a non-paying cunt, who shags sheep".

Or nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

So... they're in a contract where they pay for a service provided by you?

Is it in black and white what happens in these cases?

Sounds like you should make hidden/withdraw whatever it is that you do so that it's clear that they're not getting a freebie (which is what you said you would do, I know), and after a period of non-communication, be a bastard and try and get whatever little amount you can get from domain park advertising (as it's legally your registration, right?). And then consider making a plan for this in future.

This won't happen henceforce, because I've turned off automatic renewals for everything. I'd rather have to click 'renew' manually than renew the name of a cunt who'll never pay.

This thread is what to do about the current people who still have bills outstanding. The cunt that emailed me earlier said 'it was your fault it was renewed' to which I replied, no, bitch, it's fucking not. As stated in the T&C, we automatically renew unless you tell us otherwise. You didn't tell me otherwise, so in what fucking way is this my fault? Cunt.

I thought this thread was going to be about the people who didn't send you money after your post this morning...

:D

Ah yes, that's a point, I still haven't made any money since making that post. I'm starting to question my power over you little people.
