On another forum I frequent there is an X Factor thread, with people moaning about how Laura was great, and how Daniel shouldn't be in it. Someone asked, "Why do people like Daniel?"

I watch the x-factor auditions and then stop watching when they're over. I don't care who wins, I just like watching people who think they can sing (but can't) get totally fucking owned and demoralised when the truth is spelled out to them.

It must be depressing for the backing singers who fill in the gaps that most of the 'idols' leave, to know that they can sing much better than the monkey's front and centre, because they actually trained and practiced their art, instead of just doing karaoke in magaluf and having their drunk mates go "you should go on X-Factor!"

I do this sometimes too, but some of them make me feel unbearably sad. They're stupid to invest so much (read: any, at all) hope in the 'opportunity' to be utterly exploited and shat on by already rich cunts, especially when they're singing is even worse than mine (or, thinking about it, they're actually more stupid if they can sing, because it's a waste of their talent), yeah. But some of them are just so hopeless and unhappy, it's sometimes hard to watch. It's better that they get crushed, but ugh.

The young ones in particular. It pisses me off that they're allowed to exploit people who are that young. They're more likely to fall for stupid shit like that when they're still teenagers, so can kind of be forgiven for buying into it. But the way it's encouraged... ugh.

What gets me about ALL contestants is how they completely fail to anticipate the possibility that the judges will say no. Like, it hasn't even entered their mind. So, when the judges do say 'No, fuck off, you're shit', they go into an upset outrage and make a complete cock of themselves.

I cannot understand how these people are so disengaged from reality that they haven't prepared themselves for failure. This is particularly bad for the young kids who, on any form of rejection at that age, will invariably burst into tears.

The whole thing is just a car crash of predictable human behavior, which is probably why I like it. I'm horribly sadistic.

Yeah, those don't get sympathy. The worst part though, is that one of them begged the judges to change their minds this year, and the fucking idiots went and did so. Now they'll all be bloody at it. Yes, there's a screening stage before Simon et al ever see them. So if you get through that you assume you're good, when actually it's the good plus the really, really bad that get past.
