If you haven't been paying attention, the charming Dr. A has now released a DVD. Proper pressing, none of this dvd-r nonsense, of all his videos and extra shiny footage.

Considering the sheer number of times this man has made me laugh with his unique and humourous stylings, I shall be buying this, albeit probably after pay day.

Buy Dr. Ashens' DVD here.

Insert 'much better than £2/month' VFM joke here.

Hmm. I liked Chad Vader, but the DVD bored me. There's a difference between watching five minutes of comedy and sitting through three hours of it.
I SHALL AWAIT THE OPINIONS OF VIEWERS.

Still it's not like you paid your money and then spent 3 months waiting for it to arrive. :attitude:

Seriously though, 3 hours is probably alot to watch. Dr A has a undoubted talent*, but probably should have taken it a step further. An all new content DVD specifically produced with longer viewing IMO.

* I give permission for him to use this on the back cover of his autobiography should Shakin' Stevens be unavailable for a quote.

Personally, I've watched all of Dr. A's videos and when his RSS feed pings I look forward to watching another. I think buying his DVD is worth it purely for the amount of entertainment he's given me so far, even if there wasn't new content.

Also he lives the other end of the train line to me and I don't want a visit from Noseybonk.

I don't see a prob with that, you don't have to sit through 3 hours, you can easily just watch a "sketch" at a time.

Yes, but I think the whole point of this is to support him not only for the work he's already done, but to encourage him in his future endeavours, also.

I shall be purchasing*.

Ashens should be here pimping it himself on here in the virtual flesh. I miss him, when I remember him.

I will probably get this.

DVDs and stuff like this are a mechanism to show support for the content rather than to actually view it. I'll be getting a copy (though I may have to wait a few weeks being unemployed at the mo - assuming they don't sell out). Then after watching the exclusive stuff, I'll leave it to gather dust somewhere and just watch them on youtube as always.

But back when I had money, and after cancelling my sub due to Stugate I chucked Ashens a couple of quid as thanks for the content. This is an easier way to do that without it feeling so weird.

I've watched all his stuff, and will continue to do so. A few quid as a thank you is totally cool, plus I get a dvd. Lots of nice folks donated to PTS in the early days and there wasn't even a lot of stuff up there.

Also Dr. A sponsored me when I know that he's not as able to afford it as others, so I appreciate that too. I would have bought one of his blasted dolls if I hadn't been outbid.

I think Dr. A estimated yesterday that he's sold about 150, although I imagine it's more now.

Good on him, I say, if he can rake in a good couple of grand from dvd sales then I tip my hat to him. Everyone has a trade and teh funnies is his. I envy someone who is so creative, given that I'm personally as creative as a wooden cooking spoon.

I have visited the shop in which Chad Vader was filmed, and the place where he drinks Chocolatinis, and the bridge from which he contemplates throwing himself.

Admittedly, there isn't that much else to do in Madison, WI in the winter!

He's not interested - when last I asked him about it he said he found it impossible to contribute to any of the threads here, like it didn't make sense any more. I can almost see where he's coming from.

Still, his own forum is chugging along nicely.

[weeps openly]

I think we should build a small statue to his memory. He is lost to us but his memory will live forever. Like Rod Hull and an ITV sitcom that was amusing.

Given that he's someone who has nothing to do with this forum, and wants nothing to do with it, that's not exactly an unreasonable lack of knowledge about the guy..

But well known on "the other place" from which most of us come.

+ I think my [gasps in horror] might have given a hint regarding the tone of my post. I don't honestly expect many of the people on here to know who he is. Although the majority should I think.

He does play poker with us sometimes though.

Since I was only on WoS for a while I have missed out on most of the Ashensy goodness, but catching up is on my 'to do' list.
