especially if you work for Virgin Atlantic

Not sure how I feel about that. If anyone at my office did it I'd probably fire them for being dumb enough to do it, if you see what I mean.
I blocked Facebook access way before it was fashionable :)

Also, if you're hungover and decide to skive off work, don't mention it on facebook...

I don't see how they could expect to keep their jobs when they're on record slagging off the company they work for. They're the authors of their own misfortune.

yeah, a mate of mine designed buildings for a living. he got hammered one night and pulled a sickie, telling his assistant to sort out some bits. When the building was complete he stood at the top and, then the whole thing came crashing down. It turned out, it failed at the point that his assistant had done when he was skiving it up. He was the architect of his own downfall.

For some reason, I don't quite believe that story.

Funnily enough though a mate of mine works for MB games in the design department....

Publically bringing the company into disrepute? I think you'll be hard pressed to find a company that won't bring disciplinary proceedings for that. Whether they could sack them for it as a first offence? Who knows.

I'd wager that 99% of contracts - including yours, unless you are self employed - include wording related to bringing the company into disrepute.

I bring my employer into disrepute simply by working for them.
