Hello!

Thought you lot might be interested: Stu's first monthly column is up on my site now.

http://www.snappygamer.com/2008/10/29/s ... -label-ds/

There should be a new one at the end of every month from now on. Enjoy!

Interesting... still, I suppose if one wants shmups one could always get a GB emulator and run any of the ones that were available on that system (Solar Striker and Gradius: Interstellar Assault are the two I still own)

I'm not an expert on bullet hell shmups, so I'll take his word for it. I hope his next column is something I'm a bit more interested in.

That doesn't look all that hellish to me. Giga Wing on the DS would be quite something though.

That makes no sense to me at all, it's just a sea of purple and some japanese woman shouting.

Galaga Legions is a bit of the same... not many bullets so much as swarms of enemies and those hateful spinning pink and red things that are impossible to avoid, but yes - every time I play I get a bit further as I remember where to be for each wave.

I'm struggling for game time at the moment. When I get my 1 or 2 hours in late at night I play either Oblivion or Dead Space rather than my Arcade stuff. I used to sometimes play with Bezzies. But now they want to stay up late and play anymore.

Tonight then - CoD4? I'll stay up late especially.

I have a hankering to play Halo 3 again, if anyone wants to lend me their dusty copy... Dudley? ;)

T'other half is at the pub tonight, so I'll play some CoD4 later on, after getting some Dead Space time in.

Yes, well. It appears that due to someone uncovering some, ahem, "donations" that I made to one of the mods, the legitimacy of my elevation to Lordhood had been brought into question. In order to maintain the reputation of the Moderatory, and my own good name, I chose to return the ermine gown and avoid any consequent controversy.

The last has not been heard of this, however.

NEVER.

You're welcome to a lend if you want it, I don't even have a 360 right now.

Intend to fix that at lunch though.

Games like DoDonPachi, Esp.Ra.De and Pro-Gear are by far my favorite type of schmups. And i find them much more accessible and less dependant on trial and error than the likes of R-type where you have enemies dashing and you and coming from all sides.

Yes, sorry man. We're still interested in the advertising - I'll speak to my boss when he's back on Friday (it's nothing to do with my website, though).

Also, the "Writers" bit is just a category that you're not really supposed to click on because everything that is posted by me or any other writers will wind up in there. The individual writers section still works!
