Hi

Does anyone have the capability to record from Sky TV, perhaps onto a DVD, or to be able to send a .avi file or similar?

I have something that I need recorded, but dont have Sky.
If so PM me, will pay £10.

Cheers

it wont be downloadable I dont think.
anyway, it would be awesome to have it on DVD, so that would be preferable if someone is able to do it?

I can do it, but not very well. Someone must have a DVD recorder.

It must be some dodgy shit if you're not mentioning what it is.

I could dig out my media centre and run it through that, then make the DVD. Quality wouldn't be up to much, though, and I think I put my MC away because the PSU went bang.

If it is the slightest bit dodgy I'm sure it'll show up on the intertorrents within minutes.

Exactly, I can make a DVD from a downloaded avi no problem but it'd be a hell of a lot easier if I knew WHAT we were supposed to be getting.

You hope that your band might appear on it then then.

Channel M should be tunable on a standard analog set, afaik, at which point use a standard video/dvd recorder. Get one from Comet or something.

Hope? No. Might? No. Is? Yes.

Channel M is tunable on my TV but for some reason its very pixellated. I can record it myself as my TV has a PVR built in, but again its unsatisfactory quality really, hence asking.

Finally, yes. We have been booked previous with The Subways (for those who remember they were pretty decent, dont know if they got to a 2nd album or not) but it fell through.

Spent the day there yesterday, was a good experience - the show goes out tonight at 10.30pm for those interested to watch it. Also appearing are the quite prog-ish 'Seal Cub Clubbing Club' (what an ace name) and a "grime" style rap guy from Oldham called 'D-Rydah'.

Simply by thinking you know any facts about my band or my job when you dont, really.

Anyway, I dont really wanna go spinning round in circles again with this. If you've got something to say either PM me it, call me, or see me in person at Renovo, until the 13th November.

You're the one that brought up 'PM vindication' in public boyo, so rather if you have some comment to make, you know where to find me. Otherwise you're quite welcome to persist in your usual state of ignorance. :)

I ignore you because I learnt from my experiences, and all we do is argue. No blame, just facts. Its better for both parties.

Im tired of you sniping at me , and yes the utter bs you spouted to me via pm is vindicated, about my band and my career. If you dont want that written in the public forum, then I suggest you keep the sniping to PM, or the avenues I mentioned above. If you want to play a game of "who started it" its you this time, because you couldnt leave me/my band alone and you decided to ridicule it on this forum.

Noone invited any comment from you on this topic, other than perhaps if you were able to help with the subject at hand. In fact, I deliberately refrained from posting the content of the show I wanted help recording because I had the feeling it might cause you to jump onboard with some amazing snipe at my band.

Dear god, do you really think a brief appearance on Channel M suddenly makes your band successful, and my opinion 'that it's going nowhere' suddenly wrong? You were convinced two years ago when you had a single play on Radio 1 (which I seem to recall recording for you, if you recall, cunt that I am) would secure a signing, which it patently hasn't, and now you think an appearance on a tiny tv show is somehow a vindication. Deluded and ignorant, as I said.

Now, good friend of mine, if you want to continue this then I seriously suggest we switch to a private medium, as this forum isn't terribly fond of interpersonal disputes between users.

I probably have this channel and I'll check/set Sky+ when I get home.

Getting onto DVD from Sky+ is going to be a whole different matter though...

So long as one of us HAS a recording of it, we can work from that :)

Congrats Lacey, I am setting Sky+ now. So many Beexers on the TV this week!

my band is called The Ending Of... and as part of the 30 mins broadcast we will play 2 songs as well as some chat with the host. We are on part 3 of the show.

I would very much appreciate the whole show if someone is willing to record it though, as apposed with just "our" segment.

Many thanks to the supportive comments and offers of recording for me. If someone is able to sort a DVD i will recompense them as stated in the first post.

Also -
I wont be making any more replies to insults of my band or indeed myself by anyone on the forum and I apologise for sullying the boards with this latest incident of bs. If there indeed is anything worth saying via PM ill ensure I use that function in the future, however I would note that I am not the one slagging someone off here, but CG. However, granted, I shouldnt have bothered replying, but I do have pride in my acheivements no matter how minor they are deemed so take great offence to that being publicly slated.

Congrats with the band appearance Lacey, well done.

Dunno what's going on between you and CG but I think it's a private matter that should be kept away from the general excellence of the forum.

We do get Channel M and I've set it to record the whole programme from 10 to 11. I'm out this evening but I'll watch and comment when I can.
Going to have to find a way to grab this, think a housemate may have a usb tv thingy :)

I have no idea who your band is, Lacey, nor whether you're any good, but congratulations on the radio and TV appearances. Everyone has to start somewhere, and the more you can get yourself known the better :)

It looks like this is all in hand now anyway, but I have a DVD recorder I could have used to do your recording with.
