For the right-hand attachment, not the one shown on it. Charged the battery and finally got to attack some of the beast-size bushes and ferns about the place. I'll ache tomorrow.

I got really sucked in by the Amazon ‘Prime Day’ sale.

I’d been looking at some tools (pole hedge trimmer, chainsaw, stick vacuum) that use the same battery as my drills etc for a long time, I was going to end up buying them eventually anyway but as they were 40 to 50% off I just got them all and convinced myself if saved money in the long run. So convinced by the saving, that I also added two watches to the order, so that I could save my nicer watch for more special occasions.

The cheaper watch is probably my favourite. The plastic band feels so cheap but it's got just the right amount of bendiness without that overly-grippy rubbery feeling. It's dead light and incredibly comfortable, it doesn't need to be on tight, it doesn't slide around. And it doesn't tug my arm hairs like a bracelet would. The 'world map' is a bit useless as it's not contrasted enough from the LCD (a pale-ish blue would have been a netter backing colour than dark grey) but it doesn't really matter as it reminds me of a World Time Casio I had as a kid. And it was only 50 bucks, which is cheaper than any other watches I've had in the last 15-20 years (I'm no connoisseur by any means).

I'm absolutely chuffed with it, its nothing special in itself but I just really feel enthusiastic about it.

Here’s me new cordless stick vac.

I have loads of the batteries for this, so there’s little worry about it being flat and out of action when I need it.

It’s a bit heavier than I was expecting and the suction lessee than I was expecting. That being said, it still had a full canister after I vacuumed the living room (which if only done a few days ago with the big Hoover) so I guess it’s sufficient. Glad I didn’t pay full price.

I agonised over a cordless - outside of the sites that sell them, it's very hard to find a review that isn't just slop, with so many ex-household names turned into slop-review farms. Eventually I found an opinion that at least made up my mind - 'no cordless vacs are in our recommended section' and just didn't get one. But so long as it's getting stuff, that sounds fine really.

It's well worth a sub to https://www.which.co.uk/ for things like this.

Yeah, I've considered it - when I was a kid we always had one, then there was a while where reviews were common. Now trusted ones are valuable again

Yeah that's it, it's fine really, it'll do an OK job, there's nothing wrong with it at and how much suction does a cordless vac really need... but I still feel ever so slightly disappointed, just that human nature part of me wanting a bit more

I'd like a faster car, even though mine gets me there OK, and is fine. I just want it
I'd like a bigger telly, even though mine is pretty big and I can see it just fine, i just want it
A more powerful vacuum, a newer computer, a bigger house etc etc.

Perhaps this should have been in the first world problems thread instead.

I like the green of this Casio, and it feels nicely substantial - not heavy but kinda chunky. I appreciated that I was able to resize the bracelet myself without the nuisance of having to go to a shop.

The spinny bezel is nice, I like to use it as a bit of a fidget, and once I realised what its actual function was I have found it genuinely useful a couple of times. The date dial is so very small, I can barely read it.

Been thinking of getting one for a while and I figured now was the best time.
