Aw, thanks guys! Tonight was tapas night with some friends, so I am stuffed on patatas bravas and braised cod in white wine and croquetta de jamon and all that good stuff. Sleepy/sated.

And yeah, Kern, is it only Guinness who have cracked the secret of the 0% stout?

Ooh! Okay!

Me and Lord Rixondale have oft pondered doing a Bond Books podcast. I'm sure it would be as every bit a guest celebrity studded hit as SmershPod

Happy Mothers' Day, Mimz and any other mums on here.

I thought it was last week and made a lovely dinner for my mum in law. None of us realised it was early. So I ended up making Nigella's Quadruple Chocolate Cake for today.

Haha, that’s amazing! I love that you doubled down on Mothers Day by making amazing food, and thank you so much for the well wishes.

I had a lie in (kinda cancelled out by the clocks going forwards), then we went out for breakfast. I got some Lego and some blue tit glassware, and Russell cooked a roast, then I had a bubble bath. 10/10 mumming.

And tomorrow I have a day off in lieu for catering a work function last week.

Happy Mothers Day to anyone who finds the day applies to them, whether a mum yourself, mum to be, wanting to be, partner to a good mum or anyone who is blessed with a good mum or MIL, being mindful that we aren’t all so fortunate to have the strength of good relationships above and below and around us.

I'm interested in the illicit importation of small feathered animals.

(I found it in a 'funny pictures' thread on the SA forums)

Starting websites is mostly a pointless, fruitless endeavour but I've decided to make one about watches. I've a couple of websites do okay in the past (ie - they had a few readers but weren't exactly IGN) and a couple that were brilliant, a lot of hard work and entirely ignored (admittedly they were incredibly niche - one was about the '80s UK horror comic Scream and the other was about Judge Death the 2000AD supervillain). So I can see this going poorly.

Have you considered a subreddit?

I'm in the unenviable position of wanting outreach while not talking to anyone ha!

The thing is, my main website now does get us a lot of free games. We got onto Metacritic back in 2016 and so most of the PRs in gaming consider us to be a 'real' site. Admittedly, 90% of what we get is pure indie slop but people like EA, Ubisoft, Sega and Warner Bros do hit us up with games. Occasionally Sony too (not as much as I'd like considering we've got PlayStation in our name). To this day it's still quite surprising when you get Far Cry 6 or Returnal or whatever sent to you. Although most of the time it's a 16-bit looking Metroidvania from 'eastasiasoft' or 'Ratalaika' or whatever.

(actually if anyone here has a PS4 and really likes anime-style visual novels, let me know - I've got a ton of codes for them).

With the watch thing, I'd like to eventually convince watch microbrands that we're worthy of reviewing their watches. I feel like that's a pretty lofty goal but it'd at least pay for itself in that way.

Wayback Machine saved some of it but the formatting is shot to hell on the individual articles.
