I certainly hope that he wouldn’t be so mendacious as to have had one of these, and yet be trying to fleece his supporters anyway.

If he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, do you think his new found status would suffer? He's essentially a politician now, remember.

I don’t think it would affect him at all. His supporters would mostly not care.

You can sing this thread title in place of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

While I know what you're talking about, this all came from a thing Gaywood has at work.

When I was a kid I lived in Coalville which was a stones throw from Ashby De La Zouch where Ashby Computers & Graphics Ltd was based. It was based on a roundabout next to the leisure centre and, I think, it’s a hat shop for weddings, or some such, now.

I remember going in as a youth with my dad and buying speccy games and picking up the large cardboard boxes that housed the games with that weird black felt stuff they were wrapped in.

Good times. I can’t remember of the folks who worked there, just that it was a spacious white office/shop where they sold their games.

This reminds me of the first local dedicated computer games shop that I remember visiting. It was called Sell-A-Tape and what I remember most is them having dozens of cheap copies of Valhalla that they couldn't shift.

All I remember about that is walking around until you got killed, at which point you ended up in Valhalla. I had no idea if that was the purpose, or whether I shouldn't have died in the first place or what. I may well have had a copy without instructions for some reason...

Sorry, I'm necro-ing a few threads as I catch up. I won't go too crazy.

But I will say I miss Stu writing about modern games. I'd probably not have heard of (let alone bought) Gradius V and R Type Final if not for him.

He lost.

I don't really know enough about the political situations to comment on Wings Over Scotland stuff, so I wonder if (well, I hope) we'll see more video game content from him now. I still do quite like his writing style.

I do enjoy Stu's investigations into things like this. A Top 100 of coin-op conversions on the Speccy but updated to include all the modern homebrew stuff.

https://wosland.podgamer.com/the-speccy ... 3-edition/

That said, he HAS to be Stu and so there's plenty of nonsense in there. Such as Bomb Jack being at 89 because it doesn't have music while Breakthru, which is terrible and also doesn't have music, is at 72.

But it's a great article and the sort of thing only he'd do. It's a shame he's not writing about games anymore (as far as I can tell) because he's the best at it.
