Hi Folks

A friends son wants a gaming PC for Christmas. His budget is £500-700.

What is a good starting set up 'rig'?

£726, and that’s skimping on storage a bit.

You might want to change the CPU to Ryzen 5 2600X but I don’t really know much about AMD products.

Changing to a Ryzen might free up enough to double that boot drive. 128 is miserly in 2020

Yeah, even my four-year-old PC has a 256, but I was struggling to get the price down. I know the Ryzen CPUs are well thought of but I can’t in good conscience advise on them as I don’t know a lot about them.
