Rafa would cost 25m to get rid off.

I was going to say Kalmar had posted that in the wrong thread. But then I realised that Rafa and teh england team are probably a perfect fit now.

Early wicket today at least. I'd still hope for rain though.

Thunderstorm and the ground is now underwater, so hooray for the weather.

Huzzah!

Though I think that if the rain saves us, this will be one of the least deserved series wins ever!!!

Yes, part of me feels ever so guilty for glorying in the rainyness. Two last ball saves and a win - hmm!

This is why so many people think cricket is stupid... we could win 1-0 when we've been thrashed in 3 of the 4 matches.

So... SA declare 243 runs ahead and we're now 6-1 in reply. Where's that rain?

Yikes, not sure if this or Headingley was worse.

Still, beating Australia followed by a tied series in South Africa is not to be sniffed at, even if the performances weren't always to the standard we would hope for. Our team has potential to do well, but we need everyone to be firing on all cylinders to make it happen.

It seems so long ago, but didn't we win the one day series too? Not a bad tour, all told.

Myp you're right. It says something about the improvements that have been made in team performances that a 1-1 tie in an away series against the number one test nation in the world is a poor result.

There are undoubtedly still problems and the age old fragility is still there, but I am positive about this summer! :)

What the hell is going on in Pakistani cricket? The maddest team in the world just got madder:

Lifetime bans for Mohammad Yousuf and Younus Khan.

That is some crazy stuff. So the guys don't get on, so what? Make neither of them captain and the problem goes away. Or if it still lingers, drop whichever one is batting worse. How can you be BANNED for not liking your teammate?!?!?

Well England played like muppets this morning, the Bangladesh attack looks completely invigorated with the swaps that were made.

However, does anyone know anything about International Cricket 2010 that's being released next week?

I didn't forget, I just wasn't overly enthused about a five match ODI series.

Flirted with you, there. Good, valuable innings, though - the fact that they've got to 200 gives them a decent shout.

Yeah, I thought he was about due one, and I did think there might be some colapse at the top, but not as bad as it was, and at the price well worth a punt. shame there wasn't an e/w option...

England with yet another all-time classic collapse after tea here. The insistence of our batsmen to play atrocious shots on a good wicket is shocking.

Discipline, men!

I would say Broad and Finn need to add almost 100 to the total... (at the very least leave the
Pakistani's needing over 200) can't see that happening though...

Hah

I've just won £57.50 on betting that 3 runs would be scored from the first ball, (£25.50 from a 50p bet) Eoin Morgan would top score (£16.50 from £3 bet) and England would win (£15.50 from a £10 bet) for a profit of about £40 woohoo!

It didn't even really seem in doubt - watching England from over 8 or so, I was convinced WI hadn't got enough, and Gayle's inability to run singles in amongst the 6s was going to cost them.

It’s so weird to watch. England highest ever run chase and I was always confident. Great knock from Jason Roy, and Root just doing what he does.

I will forever love Eoin Morgan for what he has done to this team.

Also, tiny detail, Buttler declined to run when he hit the winning shot, so he got 4* instead of 1*. It’s the little things! :D

My word! What a game!

Jos Buttler marmalised the ball in the first innings, and then Chris Gayle pretty much matched him, and just as it looked like the Windies were going to win, Adil Rashid took 4 wickets in 5 balls!

Just Wow!

You’ve got to give him a chance. He could be for us what Warner is for the Aussies, but he needs to change his game slightly and he’s trying to do it on the biggest stage. He’s skilful enough to do it, just needs to show he has the temperament to defend.
