A new ergonomic, fully researched, super speedy touchscreen keyboard is out.

Anybody going to give it a go? Looks like a fucking nightmare to me :D

I tend to hold my tablet in my left hand and type with two or three fingers on my right hand, you need a hand free to use the rest of the touchscreen. But then again maybe that is because I avoid typing large amounts of text on them due to it being fiddly and save it for when there's a proper keyboard. Hmm.

I already use a split keyboard and like it a lot. I'd give this a go - but where are the numbers and symbols?

If I want to type large amounts of text on a tablet, I put it on a desk or something and type on it as if I was using a proper keyboard.

Besides, it might make you faster at typing to use KALQ, but you've got to figure out the layout and get used to it first. Overcoming 20+ years of muscle memory surely isn't easy.

That it is. Think of texting on older phones.

True, I suppose if you're not using your fingers in the same way :hat: it's not really muscle memory.

Hell, having a Sony Ericsson P800 taught me to write differently (you did your F's from the bottom to the top, and now that's how I do it on paper).

I quite liked using the 3x4 'old school' keyboard arrangement on my Galaxy S when it was in portrait mode. 12 Big buttons, easy to press + all those years of teenage muscle memory to rely on.

You have to wank on it?

One of the managers pointed out yesterday that when I type on my phone to answer an email or something like that I turn it sideways and type on it like a proper keyboard, with all fingers. I've never really thought out it before, but I know I also do the same with the iPad mini. He thought it was amazing, but it had never struck me as odd before.
