I had some really, really crap news last week. Like, soul-wrenching news.

I can't deal with a lot of stuff at the moment, and I certainly can't deal with certain people (and before you all start pointing, it's not just one person).

Myop is modded, and Craster is an admin. Throwing hundreds of hours into this place has been, in hindsight, an incredible waste of time - the important things in life aren't digital, and I'm starting to resent the things that are.

Shit man.

Sorry for being part of that drain. I've wasted too much time on the internet too.

All the best in everything.

Shit. Hope things get better! Real life is far more important than online life. I often duck out of here for a few days at a time when real life is more important.

And to the people causing trouble (whoever you are, you'll know) can you please get to fucking fuck?

Platitudes from someone you don't know probably don't really help, but for what it is worth, I don't feel your time on here has been wasted. Hope all comes good for you, and hopefully still see you Thursday?

On the other side, this has been a bit of a wake up call. Whilst this place isn;t a waste of time. It is a massive procrastination tool.

I'm sorry to hear that Grim... Best wishes and hugs to you, I hope you and yours pull through okay, and I'll like to thank you for all the time you've put into this place. It is appreciated. You've made a relatively smooth-sailing swan out of scrawny bird with furious subaquatic flailing legs. Or something.

Again, thoughts are with you, whatever the bad news. :( :luv:

it certainly wastes my time, but since I currently got nothing better to be doing.....

I have to start a literature review later in the week though, so ease off with the stuff that directly piques my interest (or the childish arguing, always worth a read)

Sorry to hear that man, and I totally take your point about sinking time into areas that can't really return much to you but I really appreciate the time and effort you've put in, and it does give me some smiles, a bit of education and occasionally an outlet. Which is only a good thing.

Indeed. Even if you don't realise it these boards have helped to touch a lot of peoples lives and been a massive support when it would seen like there is none. I can understand that not being as important as your nearest and dearest of course, but please don't see it as wasted time, for that it certainly was not.

Having that said I think a lot of people would agree with me when I say that we are here to support you too should you need us, you will be sorely missed.

On a personal note, I hope that whatever it is can be gotton through without too much heartache and stress and that you come through the other side of it happier and wiser.

Arses. Take care, mate. If it's any consolation, while I have no problem with your deciding to drop it for a bit, I wouldn't say it's been a total waste of time. This place is a very important pressure valve for dozens of people, possibly more if we have any lurkers. I know I can't afford to go out drinking and there's only so many times you can vent your spleen at home, so this place has pretty much kept me (relatively) sane over the past six months, and I doubt I'm the only one. Plus it entertains a pile of people and exposes them to ideas and even films and books and games they'd never have thought of otherwise.

Hope things work out though, seriously. Don't beat yourself up either way.
