Apparently you can now purchase a tiny teeny battery powered video projector which will plug into phones and ipods and cameras and anything with a video out signal, and project it.

http://www.optoma.co.uk/Pico.aspx

It's about £250. Is someone going to buy one and then say how great it is?

As far as I can see the tech spec is abit light on what resolution it projects at.

Hmm. Google says 480x320. Their own page says "PAL\NTSC 576i\480" which looks deliberately cryptic to me.

480x320 is what the iPhone outputs, supposedly.

I have one of these:

I really do, except mine is from 1956, so a bit older than the one there I think. The box art on mine looks older, by the style of it.

they can only project up to about a 30 inch image and only in a dark room. Where full sized projector brightness is measured in hundreds of lumens, some of these mini buggers only have 10 or less.

Of course it is - but it's the size of a mobile phone, so what were you expecting?

I believe this is the same one they reviewed on The Gadget Show on 5. It seemed very impressive.

I would ask you to define 'impressive'. Do you mean blurry, dull, small images?

Such shows would usually be impressed by a turd with some LED's on it*. The image must be tiny, blurry and crap.

* Or C64 if you will.
