Is it just me, or are these incredibly inappropriate games to bundle with a console aimed at hardcore gamers? Are you guys getting the same deal over in the U.K?

I wouldn't say the superplus is aimed at hardcore gamers, whatever they are. I don't think anyone seriously buys a console based on what's bundled with it anyway, so this might win a little favour with people who aren't interested in the typical bundles (ie: homo-erotic shooters). It does seem a little strange to include kung-fu panda instead of something neutral like a racing game, though.

Hardcore gamers are socially handicapped males who take gaming far too seriously. (e.g. - the guys who clocked up hundreds of hours on CoD4 - and unlocked all the best weapons - within a week of the game's release).

The Elite is clearly aimed at this demographic: it's big and black, it has a wanky name, and it's prohibitively expensive. The point I'm trying to make is that prospective Elite buyers do not play kiddy platform games (which makes for a very bizarre bundle).

That's all men, silly. I suppose it might be aimed at the younger variants, who can't afford one on account of being twelve, and are more likely to have one bought for them by a parent or whatever if the games on the box aren't all chainsaws and aliens. The kids can always buy Terror of the Death Kill Slaughter separately.

Hardcore gamers! That always makes me laugh. Like extreme blancmange, or something.

I doubt there are many parents splurging out on Elite consoles. Not when the vanilla version does all the same stuff for less money.

Nope, the only people buying these things are hardcore gamers with disposable incomes. Which makes the game selection a bit shit.

Hello! I have an Elite and I played six hours of Lego Star Wars on Sunday. The reason I bought it? The rest of my console/AV equipment is black, and I wanted to future-proof against having a tiny hard disk (fnar).

I was a hardcore gamer (very specifically Quake 3 on the PC). And whilst I am shy, I wouldn't go so far as to say I was socially handicapped. I know/knew lots of other gamers too. And whilst there were a few that fitted into that stereotype, most of them had girlfriends, wives or partners of some sort. Some of them where even female! Much like the fine people on this very forum.

Let's face it you're a hardcore gamer if you play games for about a quarter of the time that most people spend watching telly.

I don't watch any telly, I spend the entire time playing games, but I wouldn't describe myself as a hardcore gamer. I play games for fun.

I read the Financial Times. Because I've got a pink bathroom.

It's therapy. Plus I use a telly to play them on. I watch the telly while playign. Play the telly.

Of course, Dimrill works harder at his games than I do at work, too.

indeed, my first real cruise through Paradise City was characterised by Dimrill's name constanly scrolling past my eyes at the top as having the fastest 'street' times. With the occasional MRDAVEXXXVVXVXVXIIIXIXIIXI of course
