So, buddypals, my sister wants to get one of those Darth Vader masks that have the voice changer and sound effects built in, and she wants it this week to give to her husband for his birthday.

Has anyone seen one of these in a shop recently? In London? Or know of a website that has it in stock and posts quickly AND isn't ruinously expensive?

Thankee.

Although I didn't see this exact thing, there was a pile of Clone Trooper mask/voice changer things in Harrods yesterday, I imagine that they would have the DV one also, as they had loads of star wars stuff.

Why do people want these? It's scary as hell!

Friend (we use the term loosely as he scared the crap out of me Friday with it on) bought one from Woolworths, I can check how much it was. They also have them in Argos and Toys R Us

I'm fairly sure I saw them in Hamleys the other week - top floor, if I remember rightly. Though I couldn't testify to the voice changing bit, but there was more in the packaging than just the mask, suggesting a bit of bulk, maybe batteries and the like. Course, you'll be paying the Hamleys' premium. A search of their website didn't find it, though searching for "Darth Vader" found no masks anyway, and they definitely had a mask at least - a search for mask finds the dalek voice changing one at £40, so there's hope.

You could just hire James Earl Jones to follow him around and repeat everything he says.

There is a Forbidden Planet in London though I forget where exactly. That seems like a good bet to me.

Between Tottenham Court Road and Holborn tube stations on new Oxford street I think.

Thanks guys. I did try forbidden planet on the internet but because it's not new and/or exciting anymore it isn't on their website.

There's a good chance they are dumped in a dusty shop corner somewhere but I don't want to have to trawl around. Maybe I'll have to use some old fashioned voice-telephony...... :(

i made my gf watch star wars not long ago. Shortly after she heard Darth Vader speak she asks me:

"So Vader is black?? Isn't he supposed to be luke's father?"

She's so smart. :luv:

If by that you mean "Between TCR and Leicester Square on Shaftsbury Avenue." Yes.

I actually meant "High Holborn" and not "New Oxford Street", isn't it on the cornet of High Holborn and Shaftsbury Avenue?

And anyway it's been about 8 years since I've been there, so leave me alone
