Can any one point me to what I need please?

My lady wife and I have Blackberry phones. Heck, half of my family do now since I converted them... Any way, I want to run BBM on my PC and I think the only way you can do that is with an Android emulator.

Help pls :)

/Edit. Testing "Andy" ATM..

You do get android emulators woth the (free) dev kit.

They do, however, suck balls.

I seem to remember being told that emulation for android was better than iphobe, but still not in a strong place at the conference I went to early in the year. I was however, strughling to stay awake, not aided by mobile fanboyism happening on stage.

Well I installed Andy and whilst it works very well I get a message stating "This device does not support BBM". Bah..

So apparently Bluestacks works so I'm trying that now :)

I love this, fanboyism of mobile phones, you have named it through a spelling error! Android fan boys are iPhobes!

I played around with one that worked well for me to launch and play a game of the android version of Hearthstone when it was first launched so i could get the free card packs - I'll see if i can find a link (it handled playing a 'game' which would suggest its reasonably optimized however I do think it was a free trial and that it would eventually want me to cough up some money for it)

**
This may be what i followed - it uses "Genymotion"

I have used Bluestacks in the past, too. It's not always the most stable thing in the universe, but tends to work pretty well.

Given the massive numbers of game available in general why would you purposely fire up an emulator to play a mobile racing game?

'cause they're fun :)

I've got one on our Fire HD and I was very surprised by the graphics. They feel kind of old skool too, much like a good NFSU game :)

BTW Bamba. Are you woolly oyster or whatever he was called? Wullie oster?

Well, yes, but they're going to be designed for a touch screen so controlling them on a PC will be hell on a stick surely? Certainly when compared to something that's designed for KBAM/Xbox pad. Also, no matter how pretty they look for a mobile game they're not going to compete with a 'proper' game in that department. It just seems weird to me to go through the hassle of emulating a mobile platform and fighting with potentially non-ideal control just to get an experience that won't even look/sound as good. When instead you could just get and play a PC game.

Simpsons and Family guy require you to log into the servers. Your save games are stored there dude. From time to time Origin would kick me when playing The Simpsons, but there's a way to log back in again :)

Ass-felt works fine with a USB controller. I played it on the Nexus Player with a 360 pad. Not bad. The graphics suffer a bit on the big screen, though. A bit 2008-ish.
