I keep hearing about this game (although I don't actually hear anything about the game - I see the characters on t-shirts or in web cartoons and stuff).

Is it good? What's it about?

There are free demos for the second and third games in the series on Android so you could check them out that way? I haven't played any of them as something about the description of the game play makes me not fancy them.

In the first game at least (don't know about the sequels) you play a newly employed security guard at a pizza place called Freddy Fazbears.

Your shift is from 12 midnight to 6am.

On your first shift, you're left a voicemail message that explains that your job isn't to keep people out, it's to keep the animatronic characters in. The restaurant has a few animatronic characters that play music etc. during the day for the kiddies, but when they're alone at night they tend to move around of their own accord.

You monitor them from your security booth, a small room with a door either side. You can close the doors. You can also check cameras (there is a camera in most rooms of the place)

Whenever you have the camera monitors up, or have a door (or doors) closed, you consume power. Power is limited, and if you run out before the shift's over, you have no way of stopping the animatronic characters from coming to you.

Which is important, because when they're in their "sleep" program, if they see anyone not in a fuzzy costume, they assume that that person is an unfinished character and stuff your body into a spare animatronic suit that they have - which kills you.

As for the game itself, it's surprisingly tense and atmospheric. It's definitely the sort of game that you should play at night, in a darkened room, with headphones on.

That sounds pretty freaky. What format is it on?
