Sister in law had a 22B, it looked great and was very loud and fast. I only ever got to go in it once and it was a bit rattly inside but I reckon it would've been fun to drive.

I hired a car in Italy last week for the 6 days I was there, and they gave me an automatic MG3 hybrid.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I was very surprised.

I didn't mind the Capri in photos.

I just came out of Tesco to find one parked next to me.

Sweet jesus it's ugly in real life. The Mustang mach-e is no looker but the Capri is like someone described it to someone who drew it using broken crayons.

When I put my car in for its MOT a few months ago, I mentioned to the mechanic that it was sounding a bit crunchy and to check the brakes. Car sailed through the MOT and he didn't see a problem with the brakes.

Today by the time I got home, my front left brake was entirely gone.

Bit worrying given that I drove on the M57 twice today.

That would’ve been fun, especially as this car has two gloveboxes. Each one being a bit smaller and less useful than one regular sized glovebox.

(I’m sure in the olden days glove boxes were bigger)

Helen was very impressed this morning when, after unexpected and large packs of charcoal and logs on Friday, several boxes of car bits arrived at 7am.

You might think that from some of my recent posts, but what I actually like tend to do is squirrel stuff away where it's out of sight so I don't have to think about it - physically and mentally pushing it away, which has got me into trouble with paperwork and bills and missed deadlines on more than one occasion.

Oh, only partly like me. I like to deal with paperwork, etc, the second I receive it. But I do like to cover things over: Like bookcases. I like to have solid doors on my bookcases so that the different coloured spines and different book heights don't create visual disharmony.

The bin thread and the car thread seem to be some of my faves, so here’s both in one pic. This is Lady Ts new car.

I decided to get rid of the Skoda, even though I really liked it as a car I felt like I didn’t really trust it and like there were bigger problems just waiting to surprise me. So we used it as a trace to get Lady T this big black barge. It’s modern and swishy inside.

I’ll inherit her older car. I will miss the zoomy Skoda, but now I have something half the age, less than half the mileage, and importantly I feel like we can trust due to the past 4.5 years being zero trouble.

For some reason I went and found the original photos I took of my superb and was surprised how much difference the lowering has made, I thought it hadn't made anything noticeable.

Combined with the spacers and meaty Michelin pilot sport 4s tyres it's now wearing it looks a hell of a lot better.

It does look good like that.

Do you find those wheels get filthy dirty with brake dust and road dirt really quickly?

Hard to tell when the only thing I've got to compare against is the rest of the car which hasn't been washed in 3 years or something

But yes, some of the shiny bits are red-ish with brake dust at the moment.

I've got a sketchy Focus on the drive, I may have mentioned it last time when it terrified me but they've put new tyres on it now, and a much emptier home office.

Lady T's Big Black Truck is currently getting getting an economy of 11.1 L /100km according to the dashboard readout, which is about 21.2 MPG.

I feel like that's not very fuel efficient for a modern diesel - although it is a big, heavy, 4wd thing.

From a couple of meters away it’s great but as I said there’s a couple of bits of damage visible close up.

It’s ideal as a first car for Helen’s son and his partner though. I’m getting a fresh MOT on it on Friday then we’ll drop it off to them at the weekend.

We’ve got a Renault Twingo of the same age (they are mechanically identical) and it has a lot more rattles and other noises than this Smart. German vs French build quality conforming to stereotypes.

My kid has a shitheap Ford KA as his first car and I can't get over how modern it is compared to my first car. Automatic headlights! Start-stop! Voice control!

It's in group 1, so in theory it should be as cheap as it can be, but insurance is stupid.
