Saw a post saying that in Rugby some of the successful Reform councillors were in tears - they never wanted to win, and don't want to have to give up well-paid jobs to give time to being a councillor. They'd just been told to put their names down and "it'll be fine".

Lib Dems took Shropshire Council off the Tories here, although Reform got a few councillors.

One of the ones they did get in has already been suspended from the party though!

It's TRUE.

Councillor resigns from Reform after suspension

A newly elected councillor has resigned her Reform UK membership after she was suspended over a social media post.
Donna Edmunds, who represents Hodnet in Shropshire, was suspended last week after she posted on X about her plans to defect from the party.

That should really read, "who very briefly represented Hodnet in Shropshire."

Nigel Farage just did his very best Poundshop Trump impression and got all the responses he deserved – 13 totally on-point comebacks

Another one ...... er, TWO recently elected Reform councillors bite the dust.

A Reform UK councillor elected just over a week ago has resigned after failing to declare that he worked for the council. Andrew Kilburn will no longer take up his role as a Durham county councillor for Benfieldside.

Reform councillor steps down after a week. In a post on Facebook, Reform UK Newark said: "Significant recent changes to Desmond's personal circumstances have led him to conclude that he is not in a position to deliver the level of service to the people of Newark West that they deserve and require."

Shazbat!!! It's hard to keep up with the Reform shenanigans.

A newly-elected Reform UK councillor has switched to serve as an Independent because of his job.

Luke Shingler, who represents Nuneaton's Galley Common in Warwickshire, said he would be an Independent councillor for the "next 18 months" because his work meant he was unable to serve under a political organisation or party.

Another knob who was surprised anyone would actually vote for him.

Or surprised to find out that the rules *do* apply to his job.

I read somewhere earlier that 22 of the newly elected Reform councillors have already given up their positions.

TWENTY TWO.

It's not getting any better.

‘No meetings, no direction’: Reform accused of ‘paralysing’ Kent Council

In a statement issued by the Folkestone & Hythe Liberal Democrats this week, the scale of Reform’s inactivity was laid bare. Of the five crucial meetings planned for Kent County Council in June, four have been postponed – and there are suspicions that the fifth will follow.

Shambolic start as Reform scraps key Nottinghamshire County Council Meetings for June – leaving them without leadership

“Just weeks into their term, the new Reform administration at Nottinghamshire County Council has cancelled all council-run committee meetings for the entire month of June—sparking serious concerns about leadership, accountability, and the future of local services.

The implosion continues.

Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf resigns as civil war in party deepens

“I no longer believe working to get a Reform government elected is a good use of my time, and hereby resign the office.”

Meanwhile in the US, Elon Musk is going all in against Trump.

Right pair of cunts those two.

It was only a matter of time before they had a falling out. I'd be surprised if more don't follow, knowing how busy Trump's revolving door was during his last presidency.

Probably going to stop looking at any US-related news for a while.

They're so broken over there.

From BBC News website

Quote:
Investigators recover rifle - FBI special agent
published at 14:29

BREAKING
Next up to speak is FBI special agent in charge Robert Bohls.
He says investigators this morning have recovered "what we believe to be the weapon that was used in yesterday's shooting" - a high-powered bolt-action rifle - in a wooded area where authorities believe the shooter fled.
They have also found and are analysing a "footwear impression, a paw print and a forearm imprint".
Bohls thanks the community for the more than 130 tips the FBI has received so far.

Sounds like the shooter is a werewolf.

Obviously, I'd rather her husband hadn't been murdered but Charlie Kirk's widow's statement is unbelievably cold and creepy.

All I’ve seen is that her husband has gone on a work trip with Jesus to afford her greedy kids’ blueberry budget. Daddy is never coming back because you eat so many blueberries. I’m sure that won’t scar the kids for life.

I am having a genuine physical reaction to the thought of Trump even possibly being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I keep tensing up every time I see something about it.

If they announce it as him today it will just be because they were bullied/bribed into it.

They're apparently shitting themselves about not giving it to him. What do you do, though? Not give him his special badge and then he takes it out on your whole fucking country somehow, or just give him the thing but everyone knows that there's a massive asterisk next to it. It's literally like dealing with a tantrum prone toddler, you need to choose your battles.

It is, but… if a dog poos on the carpet you can’t reward them, because they’re going to keep pooing on the carpet, thinking that everyone loves them for it.
